Default Milton Bradley at it again

And I don't mean the people who make board games.

Dodgers right fielder Milton Bradley had another episode tonight. He dropped a fly ball in a 1-0 game in the 8th inning that would have been the 3rd out. The error allowed two runs to score making it 3-0 Colorado. The next batter singled to score another run and a fan fired a bottle at Bradley (it didn't hit him, but I believe it landed near him). Bradley picked up the bottle and walked toward the crowd with it, stopped right in front of the stands, yelled at some people in the front row (those people visibly denying that they threw it) and then threw the bottle straight downward in the stands (not near anyone, looked like it hit the steps). The umpires and security did their best to nip it right there, but Bradley was irate and was eventually ejected. He left to chants of "Bradley Sucks" from the Dodger Stadium crowd.

Not good.

Not good.
That seems pretty tame compared to some of Bradley's minor league eruptions toward umpires and obviously Frank Fransisco's chair toss into the Oakland crowd (Bueno, Bueno).

Very true.

But the league may be feeling a bit trigger happy in the wake of the chair throwing incident.

I've never liked Bradley much and I've certainly never liked the Dodgers, but if he gets suspended for this one it's a joke. He blew his lid a bit, but he didn't do anything really over the top.

What really struck me about it is the fact that he got the game winning hit last night and tonight the crowd is chanting "Bradley Sucks." Go figure.

The guy is a d*ck...always has been. He has all the tools to be great yet his attitude and his demeanor continually keep him in Leonland...it'd be tragic if it wasn't soo pathetic.

If Bradley threw it into the stands, not matter where it landed, MLB should sit him down for the rest of the season. It was too good to last, wasn't it? One drunk knucklehead and Bradley is ready to throw it all away again. He deserves whatever happens to him, rabbit-eared loser.

Major props to Mike Scioscia and Bill Stoneman from the Angels. They suspended Jose Guillen for the season this week after Jose's latest selfish dugout temper tantrum. Its a shame more teams don't have the balls to treat these prima donna bastards the same way.

Of course the Rockies apologists in this town (they know who they are *cough* Tracy Ringolsby *cough*) will talk about him like he's the next coming of Trevor Hoffman.

And all that did was fuel the Dodgers for a 5 run 9th to win it.

Keep up the good work Milton!

What sparked them was that bum Chacon walking 4 batters in 1/3 of an inning worth of work. Struck out the first batter he saw and then started handing out the free passes. The fact that Hurdle has stuck with him in the closers role all season is a travesty, but it's also typical of the Rockies organization. No accountability whatsoever for teams, players, managers & GM's whose performances range from poor to mediocre every season.

If only Stan Kroenke would buy the Rockies.

If they stick with Shawn Chacon as closer next year the Rockies should just contract themselves or move to Oklahoma City or Des Moines. Give Chin Hui-Tsao a chance, give Brian Fuentes a chance, give a homeless man off the street a chance, just let anybody but Chacon close.

Milton Bradley apologizes, asks for help.

That's what I've been waiting to hear. I truly wish this young man the best in getting his life together.

Interestingly enough, tonight with a 4-1 lead going into the ninth, Hurdle actually gave Chin Hui-Tsao the ball to go up against the heart of the Dodgers order and a funny thing happened.

He set the side down in order and got the save.

No walks, no drama, no BS. The youngster pitched like a major leaguer closer is supposed to pitch, something Chacon hasn't figured out in an entire year in the role.

Either put Chacon back in the starting rotation or give him his walking papers. He should never be handed the ball in the 9th inning in a Rockies uniform again unless he just pitched the first 8.

And one other thing I'd like to mention, Jeff Francis had his 2nd consecutive outstanding start. He went 6 innings, gave up 1 unearned run, 3 hits, 3 walks and 3 K's. The kid is allright.

Sweet! I haven't had the chance to see Francis pitch yet and won't now this year because this was his last start, but it's nice to see him throwing well after his first two starts. If Francis, Tsao, Cook (if he can ever come back from the blood clots and rib removal), Jennings, Kennedy might be a nice group of pitchers to build around. Get rid of Hurdle and Chacon and the owners decide to sell and Rockies baseball will be fun once again.

Chacon is definitely gone. They'll probably have to go to arbitration with him if he sticks around and they're not about to pay him based on the number of saves he managed this season, not with those grotesque peripheral numbers.
