Gotta get the thread going early this week. I am going to be watching the game in Kansas City with relatives unfortunately. To make things worse, two of them are Mizzou alums (Good God my family is a disaster -- they're Chief fans, Mizzou fans and Husker fans.....*shudder*). We NEED this game. I NEED this game. BADLY.
On to the actual game: It's MISSOURI. First of all, they're Barnett's b****. He's 5-0 against his former school. Second of all, they lost to Troy State. They play a non-conference schedule that is nearing rivaling KSU (which is damn hard, I heard KSU has confirmed that they're going to play Columbine High School next year though). Finally, they're overrated. Brad Smith is the man. Running. Throwing however, well, we saw how well that worked out against Troy State. We need to play a ball control offense. Run with Purify, run with Jolly, run with Vickers, run with Ellis and Charles as well. Then, play action bootleg to the TE's (losing Sypniewski hurts) and Vbacks. On D we should have Dizon (STUD) shadow Smith all game. Just watch Smithi running. Force him to beat us with his arm, he can't do it and our DB's suck. Things to watch for: * The depth chart is going under some surprises. I think we're gonna see a lot more fresh faces this week. Charles and Ellis are now listed as second on the depth chart behind Purify at HB (though Vickers and Jolly will still get carries). Watch Reggie Joseph at WR as well. He's apparently skyrocketing up there (Good guy too, he's in one of my classes). * Injuries hitting us. Chris Hollis is out, but our depth at LB shouldn't make this a problem. More PT for Bad Thad. However, two frosh that we were looking to somewhat contribute this year are out for the year and redshirting -- Patrick Williams (WR broke BOTH of his hands) and Ryan Walters (S broke his hand as well). I know Williams is going to get a medical redshirt and imagine Walters will as well. Ultimately, what's gonna go down? CU 28, Mizzou 24 and so much trash talk that I will officially reclaim my spot as the black sheep of the family. Buffaloes, Buffaloes, GO C-U! |

FORGOT SOMETHING!
There is a lot of drama going down over Maurice Lucas, DE right now. He originally committed, to CU, but supposedly is now ready to sign with KSU. DON'T give up on him yet, CU hasn't and apparently his bond with KSU is shakier than the original signing with K-State. Apparently there's some worries over his grades, but he's been assured that he can get in to CU. Why else would someone go to KSU instead of CU? All in all, expect him to be a Buffalo next season. |

![]() He won't be a Bluffalo next season. He has already given a solid verbal commit to KSU. |

I'm not expecting Missouri to win this game. However I do see Colorado more of a threat this year then KSU.

Big XII action at last! Very interesting game. Nobody thought coming in that Colorado might be as much a threat as Mizzou to win the north. Where is the game being played? If it's at CU, then I think the Buffs win. At MU might prove much more difficult. MU usually suck on the road.
Can't wait for the KU-NU tilt. KU has had the chance to be 4-0, but is 2-2 because they lost their last to by one point each, including a blown 25 point lead to texas tech. Huskers should win, but I am still concerned about turnovers. This will be a good test. Hopefully we can get a lead and build on it, instead of almost giving it away like at Pitt. |

Anyone else find that sentence pretty damn funny? |

Ok, seriously though, do the Buffie fans think their defense can hold up? They are ranked 102 in total defense, giving up 452 yards per game...

Saul... over the past 4 years we are 2-2 vs KSU... and 2 of the past 3 went to the Buffs... including a victory in Manhattan...I would say that is pretty sweet considering...
But as for this week's game, I do fear that the retribution is here for the Buffs. We've played very good ball against some lesser schools. But if we come out and dog it in the first quarter like against NTU we are in trouble. This is a very Jekell and Hyde team this year and if both the offense and defense can manage to put together a full game each, I like our chances. But until I see it, I fear we may be in line for a butt-kicking this week

and I'm still curious how a Buffalo vs. Mizzou gamethread is turned into a CU-KSU slam fest.

I feel for you Nuggs...
Get this - my dad is an alum of - Texas - did some of his undergraduate work there before transferring to OU where he got his bachelor's...He went on to also get his masters from Nebraska.. Of course I went to CU & forced him to don the silver & gold...He still silently cheers for Nebraska under his breath when we play - but I usually give him a stern look & he backs down! ![]() Wear the black-sheep outfit with pride! Go Buffs! |

Luggage packed. On my way to the airport. Got the customized CU jersey and the CU polo ready to go. I just wish this was my father's side of the family so they'd be forced to see their last name on the back of the CU jersey, but alas it's my moms so it won't be as startling or damaging to them.
Until CU wins. 28-24. I have spoken. |

GO BUFFS. Time to kick some Mizzou butt and take the North crown. The question on the minds of many now is this: Is Bobby Purify a Rashaan Salaam or a Chris Brown? I go with the latter. I agree with the ball control concept in this one; keep Brad on the bench for as long as you can. CU has the running game to do it. I see blow out: 52 to 17, Buffs.

Wow! Count me suprised that Missouri actually pulled that one out! Although they should have. They played pretty much mistake free and a few calls didn't go their way and they stuck in there and kept fighting.
Their defense played really well. Hats off to MU for beating Barnett for the first time! ![]() |

Before any of you Buffalo fans try to cry about the endzone call, let me say this...that was an INT!
