Default Interesting Polling Point

Friday night on the Newshour, Jim Lehrer was interviewing the bigwigs from Pew and Gallup, and also Joel Klein. Klein brought up an interesting point about this year's polls - Nobody's answering them. He pointed out how small the samples were because over 90% of the people polled on the phone, etc., refuse to participate, or don't answer their phones. The Pew and Gallup guys started hemming and hawing but never refuted Klein's point. Klein hypothesized that the polls that we're seeing every day, represent about 8% of the population.

Klein went on further to note that we may be looking at a Truman/Dewey surprise in November. It seems that Americans are determined to vote - and most have already made up their minds, but they're sick of the political process.

Yeah, if someone rings me and asks me how I'm doing this evening Mr. so&so I direct them to not open their mouths again and listen very carefully...
Unless your calling to tell me I've won cash or property with absolutely no conditions, PUT THIS # ON YOUR *DO NOT CALL LIST* conversation over.

Yep.

Another clue is the contrast between the hand-picked, loyalty oath-signing supporters who turn out to listen to the paranoia monkey and the record crowds turning up at Kerry campaign stops.

Totally Ignorant.

Gallup has Bush up by 8 points, ahead in Wisconsin, in a heat in Ohio, Penn and Florida.

You people are clueless.
