Kerry addresses charge of 'adrift" campaign
First of all, to say my campaign is "adrift" is not an accurate assessment of our efforts, for like a mighty ship, such as the Mayflower - though my ancestors were not intolelarn Pilgrams and I honor Native American rights - the rudder must first be turned by the wheel, with the ropes slowly turning the rudder in the great seas of hope ... or as another great Navy hero said TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO, on Sept 23, 1779, "I have not yet begun to fight."
It has been told to me by all my adivisors, and even our beloved former leader who rose from his hospital bed in desperation, that I must find my message on domestic issues, to wit: the economy. So, let me begin by turning our nation's great rudder from Iraq, where I must in all candor tell you, this President has made grevious errors. We need allies. We need more troops. We need more money. We need more time. He's just done lots of stuff wrong.
So, now we are told we can't afford after school care, or policeman, or teachers, and they threaten our senior citizens with higher co-pays on medicare, but we have 200 BILLION for Iraq. Which I voted for, but let me explain why. Once our troops were over there, which I would have done too, but I can explain that too, we had to support the troops ... unless it involved a corrupt unwinnable war, like this war, we had to spend the money for guns and stuff, but Halliburton is evil. I would invade but only with a coalition of allies who shared our common vision of .... stability. Saddam was contained and no threat.
I can't stand it anymore.

Yes, steer the rudder indeed. He's running the ship aground....in Iraq. HA HA HA. He comes right back to it every time. Quite comical.
