Well, I said I'd post a thread about it and here I am. The beta was released earlier and I've been playing since. This game is great. The graphics are unreal. The ragdoll physics are unreal aswell. You can pretty much manipulate anything (tires, barrels, cans, bottles, wicker baskets, dead bodies) as you see fit. If this is an example of what HL2 is going to be like on the havok engine then I suggest everyone buy it. But you're going to need a high end system to play it. If you think Doom 3 runs your system hard. This will be just as rough. Lets see if I can find some screen shots that I took to give an example of how great this game is....oh and how great I am at this game too

Probably went out and either got a new ATI g card, or bought copy of condition zero. Thats the only way the beta is playable right now...either that or at lan centers. I've got alot more ss now with some bodies laying around...oh and one of me throwing a nade on a pile of bodies. It's so much fun throwing a granade at some barrels and launching them into people shooting at you knocking them down and stuff. Here are some more ss.

I wish I was able to record but the beta doesn't allow it. Screenshots don't do this game justice. Everything in the enviroment can be manipulated. Rolling tires at people is fun because they don't know what to do. So they shoot the tires and you shoot them. I kept trying to get a ss of someone getting capped in the head and blood spurting out the exit wound and onto a wall. I wasn't quick enough to pull it off. Trees splinter, boxes catch on fire, wicker baskets get knocked over. It's fun stuff. HL2 will be alot like this. Where you can manipulate everything in the enviroment. This is just a mod off of that game. There is no single player to Source. It's multiplayer only. It's addicting as hell. I was up till 3am playing last night, and then woke up at 8 and started playing. I seriously need to go write somemore after my month of doing nothing basically. This is the most releastic game I've played...The way the bodies fall is unreal. I watched a guy get shot in the head, fall back into the wall, and then slide down the wall leaving a bloody trail behind. FUN FUN FUN!

If Socom turns out like that...then every game ever created has just been put in it's place. You'll have to buy gov't super computers to run that stuff!

I keep looking at the caps and they are impressive. I can't imagine a game looking like that during play. Of course, 15 years ago, a gb on the harddrive was considered a top end computer. I remember playing games on those big ass floppies. Oh how things have changed since the commodore 64.

Sideburn.... I hate you with the white hot intensity of 1000 suns... Show me up by getting an X800xt card right after I got the 9800xt...

Those screenies look great. I saw some great shots in the native .png format on a board this morning. I have a feeling that it might be THE high watermark for online gaming yet again. If they can get the minor driver issues taken care of in the new Radeon releases, clearly ATI (who Valve supports) will be just dying to get this game out so their benchies can start to compete with Nv's 69 series cards...

Looks sweet, burn! I have an AMD 1.2 with 512 and an ATI 9800 XP. Think it'd stress?

Yeah, that would be pretty stressed out. You RAM and GPU would be fine, but you'll probably need a better processor. Those aren't too bad in price tho. Check pricewatch.com every now and then. They always have great deals on stuff. I'm thinking of getting the AMD 64 fx53 processor. Gotta save some money.

Muahahahahahahaha. I had to splurge on it. I wanted that card. I'm talking to some computa nerds about recording from the beta. I may be able to do it. If I can, I'll try to turn it into an avi so you can see the Havok engine in motion. A few minutes ago, I rolled a body down a hill at some counter-terrorists. They didn't shoot me because they were laughing so hard. I also killed a teammate with a bottle. He was standing in front of me fighting it out with some dudes, and I shot a bottle behind him. It launched into the back of his head. I got killed right after because I fell out of my chair laughing so hard. I also boosted a guy into a tree, and then shotdown the tree. That was funny too. Man, the things that you can do.
