Default Phelps pulls in two more golds- 5 total medals

impressive. this kid is only 19. By the end of his Olympic Career he could have over 20 total medals.

The most exciting kid to watch in the Olympics this year. I was really pulling for him to break the record, but that was a pretty tall order. Oh well, he's got a long career ahead of him.

That 4 x 200 relay last night was a barnburner. I have to admit, the Thorpedo is pretty impressive.

Yeah that was pretty impressive. The lead was completely whiped out by the time he surfaced.

OT, but I didn't watch the mens individ gymanstics last night. Were the romulan and korean guys rightfully pissed that Hamm's scores made up for the vault?

I didn't notice the reactions of the others. They were probably steaming so they decided to keep the camera off them.

First ever men's all around gold for the US, I'll take it. Plus the women's 4 x 200 relay team cleaned house last night too.

Phelps now has 6....4 gold.

On a side note: Carly Patterson won the gold in the All Around...first US to win it since Mary Lou Retton in 1984.

Off topic but since Phelps' Olympic experience is over for now, it can be used for other discussion.

Did anyone else catch the men's gymnastics tonight? Those judges were complete ass clowns. I thought the audience was going to take the place down with all that booing and jeering. They booed so much they actually got the judges to change Nemov's score, which should have been higher in the first place. Incredible.

On a plus note, the US men swept the 400! And a white guy won! ( No offense intended, it just happens so rarely. )

Congrats to all of our Olympians.

They changed his score...but he was still in third...That scoring was so screwed! And did anyone realize that if his Brother Morgan would have won the tiebreaker (another screwy deal) that Morgan would have had the Bronze.

Yeah, I noticed that the white guy took first too No offense!

Oh for goodness sake, I just heard that the IOC or the reigning gymnastics body sent Paul Hamm a letter asking him to give up his gold medal, citing it would be the ultimate show of sportsmanship. Sheesh! That poor guy has been put through the wringer because the judges couldn't pull their heads out of their asses over there.
