"The West is loaded," he said. "Denver's got Kenyon Martin and 'Melo (Carmelo Anthony). San Antonio's got "(Tim) Duncan and (Tony) Parker. Minnesota's got KG (Kevin Garnett). Sac's got (Chris) Webber and (Mike) Bibby. In the East, all they've got is the two O'Neal boys (himself and Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal)." Is it just me, or does everyone else get excited now about the Nuggets. It has been so long since we had a team, and now everyone seems to be giving us props! Out of that whole article, thats the only thing that sticks with me! |

I'm pretty excited for the Nuggets... I still don't like Bzdelik and we still don't have a good shooter, but we're in the right direction.

I thought that the best thing about that article was how Shaq told the young Heat players to get him the ball and wait for open jumpshots, and they will all get big contracts! Can't say that it's not true. Kobe got his, Fisher got his, Eddie Jones got his, Van Exel, Vlade, AC Green, etc, etc...

...and its very nice to see everyone excited about the nugs.
the last time we had a team worth this much attention was back in the mid to late eighties when we had english, natt, lever, and co. |

I like how he doesnt' even acknowledge Kobe or the Lakers as a dominant team in the West.

In the first round of the playoffs last year I heard Barkley say something that was great. "Better get beating the Nuggets out of your system because it's not going to happen much longer".
---And that was before Kenyon. |

I continue to be amazed by the strides this team has managed to make in just 2 years.
And yes, I'm very excited about the coming season. |

I'm excited this year about the whole squad! With the improved play of Melo', Nene, and even Skita plus a healthy Camby... then you look at Andre Miller who hasn't even played up to his potential and this is a team that could make a major improvement in next seasons playoffs.
BTW, whats up with Shaq Fu not giving any love to champion Pistons? Until further notice, THEY ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE EAST and the ENTIRE NBA. |

I'm glad to see some of your Nugget fans coming out of the closet.
I remember posting about the Nuggets and the thread died with only the sound of the crickets. I stopped watching them for awhile when Issel took the reigns. It was just too painful. I really like everything that Kiki has done with the team lately. I remember being able to get seats from the scalpers nearly down on the front row. Those days are gone. |

I think I was one of the crickets on those threads.
Hopefully we'll get some more chatter in the season to come. They look to be an exciting young team. |

So if I post anything here does it show up in General Discussion among all the football threads? Is that bad?
I sure wish there was a way I could just SEE one game over here. I think I'll post that question in another thread. |

I am a Colorado boy all the way nuggets, broncos, rockies, avalanche, CU, CSU, AFA. No one talked about the nuggets because most of us have been taught if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Finally the nuggets are giving us a reason and opportunity to say something positive. We will have to wait until their season starts to see if they continue to make strides but I do like their chances. Maybe we can even get back into the top ten sports towns again. Last I saw we were sitting at number twelve, which I think is major bogus.

I'm a big Colorado fan first kind of guy myself. I think everyone should see an AFA home game just once if for nothing else but the fly bys.
What I find amazing is he fans who know are saying "I was always a Nuggets fan" I really like Kiki from day one and never ever like Horse even when he played. I think it would be fun to see some of the old players rally around the team again. Everyone said that Kroenke was a basketball guy but until recently nobody believed it. |

Perfect example is game 3 of the series against Minnesota. We came out and just were demolishing them. Every time they would start to make a run, Bzdelik wouldn't stop it until it got dangerously close. The starters were getting lazy (we would be up ~20) and instead of making a stand (put a Bowen, a White, a Barry in) to get the mo back, he would let it go until it reached single digits. Against a team like Minnesota, you can't do that and expect to get away with it. Luckily we did (and I have the pictures from my seat to prove it) though. Bzzzzzzzz is going through learning pains still. Every time I think about his situation I flip flop on whether we should gut it out with him or not. On one hand, you have someone like Flip Saunders who didn't really coach at all before getting the T-Pups job, and now he's one of the better coaches in the league. On the other hand, we're ready to strike now, we need someone that can take the team to a new level. |

If BZ would shut up and listen there are people all around him trying to help him get it right. People want to see him succeed but he's being stubborn. They are gutting it out with him because it's the right thing to do for right now. They should have given the previous "interim" coach a better shot at sticking around but they did the wrong thing with him. I don't like BZ because he seems to over coach at times. He needs to get of the way a little bit and let these guys fly. Shanahan used to over coach and then he came away from the Forty Niners a new man. Winning cures a lot of ills.
