What is it with New Jersey, they seem to have more than their fair share of corrupt politicians from people hiring hookers to influence witnesses, to having unqualified boyfriends on payrolls. It's gotta be worth looking into.

I'm not familiar with McGreevey but how is he corrupt? From the Fox article on him he sounded like a good guy (taking money from rich only to give to poor).

The guy had a gay affair behind is wife's back and knew the scandel would ruin him anyway so he resigned.

What's the big deal?

so he was screwing his employee literally....and he was the guy he hired.

that I don't know.........but he brought up the gay thing to get sympathy from people and to hide the fact that he hired his lover.

I would assume that dude would resign as well.....I guess both of them will be moving to south beach soon and set up their own little condo together.

Additionally there was a grand jury investigation into his fundraising. One of his biggest contributors was busted trying to set up liaisons with grand jury members and prostitutes. He weathered that one.

it's really not about being gay. If it was just being gay, he could stay in office and and be lionized as fighting for the cause. I suspect that there's more than we're hearing now. I imagine the DNC helped push him out.

His "Boyfriend" was pulling down 115k, and didn't even have the slightest inkling of what HomeLand Security even was. (Plus the Bedroom Perks).

Not only that, while things are cloudy, he was extorting the Governor for 5 million along with a "Sexual Harrasment" lawsuit. At least that is what is leaking out, so to speak. Evidently, there was some serious raiding going on to the treasury as well till the head was about to blown off, so to speak.

Seriously though, this guy was crooked as hell. Being gay had nothing to do with it, it was just to deflect all the corruption in this administration. The whole deal with his fundraiser hiring the hookers , there was more to it then that. The hookers were hired by Kuschner for federal grand jury witnesses involved with the case concerning corruption in Trenton. Kushner then tried to blackmail the witness by sending pictures of him nailing the hooker to his wife.

Every now and then you see an "Impeach Florio" bumper sticker on an older car, you see "impeach McGreevey" all the time, but I've never seen an "impeach Whittman" one. The Democratic party runs the show here, is as crooked as all hell, yet these morons continue to vote for them.

Now the NJ constitution calls for a special election Nov 2 in light of this resignation. But it wont happen. The NJSC is in the back pocket of the DNC. Much like replacing Torricelli with Lautenburg in violation of the state Constitution the DNC will lean on the Supreme court so that the election doesnt take place either. That way McGreevey's successor will be the "incumbent" in 06
