What's happened in the past 25 years is that there is no longer a difference between tv news and tv news commentary. It's really easy to slant a newscast and these guys are pros at it - in their choice of stories, in the way they are presented, in the words they use (watch how often the media will use the word "activist" or "advocate" for liberal protestors and "protestor" or "extremist" for conservative protestors, for example).

And Fox is just as guilty as the others. It's just that they are more equal opportunity bias rather than just all-lefty all-the-time bias.

Of course it isn't. Of course, you'd have to also take into account that you don't seem to be deriding any other news organization besides Fox, which would lead logically to the conclusion that you're particularly irritated with Fox News' slant as opposed to the opposite slant employed by NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC, etc...

I guess only right-leaning bias is irritating to you, whilst a leftist one is perfectly acceptable.

Not true, Captain... while Fix is the most right-wing, I do not consider CNN-servative or MSGOP left-leaning... at all.

Of course you wouldn't. Because judging by your standards of commondreams.org and moveon.org, anything right of Michael Moore is just so much evil purveyed by right wing Nazis.

CNN isn't liberal enough for you? Now that's telling.

When noted conservatives like Cal Thomas notice and remark on the biased nature of CNN's convention coverage (with the comment to the effect that Republicans would complain bitterly over similar coverage of their convention), one can hardly claim a liberal bias, Captain.

The house that Poppy Bush/Gulf War One built not liberal?

Who would believe such a thing?

I was commenting on how it was Thomas who made the comment about Fox not CNN.

But yes if you just want to watch it without commentator biasness (actual word??) then Cspan is the way to go.

But no I disagree on that as being the reason for low ratings.

One has to consider which demographic group the democratic convention is going to appeal to... the "likely audience"... which would be mostly liberals. To gear the coverage to the tastes of a conservative audience instead is going to irritate the target audience, causing a widespread channel change. Lots of dems are emailing protests and even flat-out boycotting CNN as a result of the convention coverage...

CNN was commonly referred to as the Clinton News Network during the Clinton years (whom I voted for)... CNN and pMSNBC are far from right leaning.

LABF once said that 99.9 of the Media was ultra conservative.

Sorry, your completely wrong. They knew that the die hard left wasn't going to desert, they know that they know it's all a scam to appear centrist. Your dealing with 10 percent of the population that only a major event would change minds. You can be sure Al Quaeda is scratching their head to find out a way to kill as many Americans as possible and still get a Kerry election.

The committed voter isn't what the convention was about! Good Grief Blue. It was about fooling America that this clown has "Wisdom", the catchphrase that occured about 1000 times. He also promised to tax the rich, hardly too risky, balance the budget, give everyone medical care, save Social Security, put 40k more troops in Iraq and re-establish great relations with our "Allies" and hell, he put a cherry on top and even solved the Israeli Wall issue.

It's not uncommon for democrats to promise everything and deliver nothing, but this speech took the cake. The speech went to his brilliant 4 month service where he faked 1 purple and managed to catch two more, ALL IN 4 MONTHS, to his daughters talking about his empathy by giving CPR to a Gerbil.

Of course missing was 19 years of a voting record that at times had Ted Kennedy voting against him.

Oh how horrible! The lefties didn't think the broadcast they've traditionally found on CNN was far enough left.

This is truly newsworthy, and a good measure to show that CNN is now a GOP-sponsored puppet!

Well then we need that liberal channel don't we!

It's so funny when reality starts filtering in to CNN that they have to acknowlege it.

And then they are bowing down. Even Blue admits that they were "gearing down" and than blames people for changing the channel.

It's obviously CNN's fault.

How Amusing.

No, I'm not wrong, Mock. The die-hard left did, in fact, turn off CNN-servative en masse, infuriated by the convention coverage... opting instead to watch it on C-span. If you don't believe the articles I've already posted, try checking out some left-leaning message boards.

Yeah, right, Captain... I'm sure that republicans wouldn't mind a bit having CNN truncate coverage of their convention speeches in order to allow time for guys like Bill Clinton and James Carville to critique the orations.

LMAO @ Exile thinking the extreme right-wing fringe he occupies somehow represents mainstream America.

AWOL Boy has taken this country about as far to the right as is possible.

What does that say about his followers?

see this is where the ability to read and think might help you. I'm pro choice.. hardly a right wing position..I believe in some forms of gun control, like registration of guns.. again, hardly a right wing position. I think the separation of church and state is also a good thing, not really a right wing stance. I'm pro several unions, like UAW... again hardly a right wing position.

Your knowledge of what I am is like most of your other positions, severly lacking.

What I am, is leery, extremely of the far left democrats, of which it appears you are, who have destroyed a once great party and are forever dragging it leftward and away from most Americans.

I voted for Billy jeff, and am disappointed in his behaviour in office, not because I am right wing, but because i believe in being faithful to the one you love, and if you can't you need to get the hell out of the relationship. I would have thought that Billy could have kept his pecker in his pants whilst he was married and president. I also feel the same way about Bob Packwood and others who can't be faithful to the ones the supposedly love.

I personally don't think Bush has been a bad president and there are things he could do better. But what I am not, unlike you, is a hater. You are far more rabid than any of the Clinton Bashers ever were. No one accused Clinton of being hitler, unlike you and your pathetic ilk.

I may seem right wing to you, but that's because you are so far to the left, anyone not to the left of you is a nazi...

If Bush was a right winger and has taken the country as far right as possible, people like LABF would be in concentration camps.

Bush has worked with Democrats and all he's ever recieved for that is a stab in the back, Like Ted Kennedy after the education bill.

If Bush is dumb or whatever adjective you want to apply to him, what does that make Heinz-Kerry who let someone supposedly dumb, fool him into voting to support the war? Doesn't say a whole lot for your golden boy who let some dumb guy fool him..

Bush hasn't taken this country to the right any more than Clinton took it to the left...This country is evenly divided between right and left. Get over your rabid hatred and get over yourself.
