I agree. Just trying to find someone who will listen and do that is something else. I don't think Bush has done enough, and I'm not sure if Kerry will do any and if he does I'm not sure if it outweighs some of the other things I disagree with him about.

It's pathetic. I'm depressed over who our president will be (no matter who it is). That can't be good.

true , although I think Kerry will get us in the right Direction , I dont see Kerry fullfilling real help to Mom and Pops outlets , but if he can just ease the burden , that would Help , actually there was 3 people I saw that would have done right by Main street America ......
1. John McCain
2. John Edwards
3.Dennis Kusinich .........

You think Kerry, I think its a push. Difference of opinion.

It pisses me off that McCain didn't win in 2000.

What could have been. Hopefully it will in 2008.

Anyway, this has been a good discussion, but alas it is time for me to go home.

Talk to you later.

if you want small companies to make it , you have to sacrafice saving a few of your $$ and stay out of the big chain stores
If I want gas from a Wal-Mart, I'll order one of their burritos.

I buy gas from whoever is selling it for the cheapest. That's from mom and pops and local chains just as often as from big chains.

I "spread the wealth" like any good capitalist.

I didnt know Wal mart sold Gas ........
Well the Burrito makes sence
Ok so you shop around for the best buy and buy from the ones that have the best price , Fair enough , I found that Mom and Pop stations that sell cheap Gas , have lower quality of gas then the Big Chains ......
Then I am adding fuel additives to make up the difference .......
I shop 1 place for Gas , no matter the price I trust their Gas ,and it is a Mom and Pop station ....... Nothing will piss you off more then being a 120 Miles from the nearest Cell phone tower and have fuel injector Problems from cheap gas ( been there done that ) or comming down the side of a mountian and have your Pickup start missing ........

If you're where I am where gas has yet to fall below the $2.00 mark...you don't care if it's Mom & Pop or some chain selling it...you're looking for the cheapest available, period.

Fair enough , Before this gets out of hand , I referenced the Mom and Pop Vs Big Chains as to Minimum wage raising ......... That Raising the Min wage definatly has a downside to it , but it isnt the doomsday that it was made out to be ..........
I just wanted to clear that up before I get called a gas Nazi , a Communist , Spider hates fords , and just about anything else that can be thought up.......

did anyone else notice that John Edward's mom looks an awful lot like that actress from Seinfeld? You know, the older woman that bought the last marble rye loaf and Jerry stole it from her saying 'Give it up you old bag!"

Good point....200K in California is like 50K in oklahoma. My house in CA would be worth about 200K and I paid 90K for mine.

It's all relative.

And lastely, let me say...AMEN to the no min, wage increase. That only hurts labor in the long run. Jobs will start leaving left and right out of the country when you raise the minimum wage.
The minimum wage arguement is a giant scare tactic. For instance my company paid out a bonus last year and the president of operations made $1.65 million dollars in bonus money. This comes out to $4,125 dollars per person in my department. Lets say that this greedy son of a gun decided to take less of a bonus and give each person $2062.50. This would give each person about 1.00 more per hour in wages and the greedy son of a gun would still bring home over $800,000.

My point is corporate greed is the problem not the minimum wage. My department hires well over minimum wage and the company is doing very well. Americans have been hoodwinked. All these companys are reporting profit losses and poor financials but they're still making billions of dollars.

Listen to the stockmarket reports sometimes. Company XYZ is below expectations... In year ---- the company reports profits of 1 billion but, this year they're not going to make that billion dollar mark they will only make a measly $750,000,000. So, because they didn't make that extra 250,000,000 they hammer down on the little guy and yet they still take home their dividends and corporate bonuses that could pay the entire work force... Think about it. They keep outsourcing, Laying off workers, cutting health benefits and they continue to cry about not making a profit... Whatever.

Walk into Burger King or McDonalds and order a meal for 2... I bet it will cost about $10.00 or $11.00. That takes care of a minimum wage worker for 1 hour.

Get it together people!

While the average CEO's paycheck has risen 27%, the average American worker's wages - when taking inflation into account - is somewhere between -1% to 2.5%. That's minus 1%. Where's the level playing field?

Like I posted the other day, Exxon Mobile's profit just went up 39%. 39%! What company wouldn't drool over that kind of profit line! Crude prices went up. Pump prices went up. Where's that profit coming from?

My suspicion is that corporate America is getting what it's paying for in Washington D.C.

Not to mention all the jobs that have either been lost or outsourced on AWOL Boy's watch.

If you look at the earning and tax statements of most of the corporations who have played ball with Dim Son, you'll see that while their earnings have doubled or tripled over the past couple years, they have not hired anyone or created new jobs.

In other words, they're not investing any of the money from those enormous tax cuts in the US economy.

You'd think by now the rethugs would have learned that America's economy only works when everyone is doing well.
