America gives more aid than any other country in the world.
We give more food aid, we give military aid, we give social aid. America supports the right for Israel to exist. America gives more funds for Aids research and drugs than the whole world combined. America wants free trade. America rescued France in WW1. America rescused the world in WW2, when loppin off heads by Japanese, and mass genocide was in place in Europe. America rescued Stalin, who was at his breaking point. America rescued Berlin, for 15 months. America asked for the creation of the League of Nations. America asked for the United Nations. America has never attacked a country unless attacked. America gave democracy to Germany and Japan. America has given up countless territory in the hope of democracy. America has been tolerant of immigrants. America has been tolerant of religious freedom. Now, America stands a new test, a test we have not been used to. It's the test that noone dares mention, the facism of Islam. This facism is even more dangerous than Nazism, or even the Kamakazi. Many of your young do not remember the fanatical representation of these groups that held their populace hostage. The fundamental problem is there is absolutely no honor in our enemy now. The enemy has no problem killing it's own citizens. When CBS shows some woman crying from a selective strike, just remember. There were no selective strikes in Hamburg or Hiroshima. There was little room for wailing. Now, the enemy can b**** and moan about one house. Remember. We torched entire cities. Anyone who thinks this isn't a world war is deluding themselves. However, it's a different kind of war. Our own strength weakens us by our own rules. Remember that the ememy will fight with no rules. Germany fought well, but many didn't agree with the Nazi's. The Jap's fought like badgers. The Islamic movement might be even more problematic. Hear me now. This isn't going away. Many jestures of peace have been handed to them, repeatedly. This is up and down the line. Only Jordan has picked up the thorny rose. The rest is a total crap hole. The Chinese just got done blowing up a church, it wasn't even mentioned, but they are "capitalist" Europe is enveloped in corruption that would make Martha Stewart look like a saint. Our leader, good or bad, of Homeland Security says we are going to be attacked. Hopefully we can find out and stop it. The Rhetoric is incredible. This war isn't going to wait while we posture the election. |

Amen brother, Amen. My biggest worry is the fifth column in America. Namely liberals who are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. People like Michael Moore and LA Bronco fan who have evolved from a "Hate Bush" stance to an outright "Hate America" policy. Just watch, these are the people that Al Quaida will be or are now recruiting. Beware the enemy from within!!

I was totally incredulous when the Senate decided we needed another "CZAR" to combine the CIA and FBI.
WTF was that? WE JUST CREATED A WHOLE NEW CABINET POSITION of homeland security! The Interim CIA chief said that was ludicrous to lay another layer of beaurocracy on top of a triple layer allready. WTF was Homeland Security supposed to do? Jesus Christ Cheney, get your **** together. Let's get everyone rowing in the same direction for Christ Sake. |

I saw the interim CIA director, he looks competent.
He said something that stood out in my mind. "I have been doing this for 30 years. I am not "acting director", I am doing the job right now. That's some ****in' strong words that I want. |

Man. I can't believe I'm about to defend Michael Moore, but I can't imagine anyone who seriously watches his movies can believe he is anti-American. He's a showman and a propagandist. He's extremist. He's fat and a mess generally. But he is incredibly proud of his country and is doing a hell of a lot more than myself or just about anyone else to combat what he feels is a threat. You may not agree with him, but what he is doing is the most patriotic act possible - he's trying to better his country. He attempts to focus the national attention on the things he believes are the biggest problems in our society (i.e. classism, gun control, violence, government intrusion, etc) in a effort to effect change. That is very American. His problem is that he loses credibility when he becomes sensationalist. The problem is in the execution, not the motive. To call it anti-american is, in my opinion, shortsighted.
To me, this line of thought is not logically consistant. A) Terrorists hate America because they resent our freedom (according to virtually any press release by any politican in either party), yet B) excerising that freedom is anti-american and gives aid and comfort to those same terriorists. The lesson this country learned in Vietnam was that while it may oppose a war, it must support our troops. Here in DC there are anti-war/anti-Bush protests on differing scales virtually every weekend. Not once have I seen an anti-troop sign/sticker/etc. What I have seen are "Support Our Troops Oppose the War" stickers. Those are everywhere. Last edited by Antilles; 07-19-2004 at 08:23 AM.. |

Micheal Moore calls Americans ignorant and stupid. He hates us when it serves him, and loves us when it comes to making a living.

He lives in a state that elected Arnold as governor.. **I** would tend to think Americans are both ignorant and stupid as well.

Michael Moore is a patriot? WTF hit you on the head?
The most patriotic thing...hello! Every armed service men who gave their life is rolling in their grave after that statement. I don't care if somebody is against the war, that is their right. But to go against the troops or insult America is wrong. And I've read quotes with him doing both. |

It is also a state dominated by Democrats. Does that make them ignorant and stupid as well? Last edited by Pueblo Bronco; 07-19-2004 at 09:19 AM.. |

You are completely right. Giving your life for your country is far and away the most patriotic thing a person can do. Attempting to better your country from within (misguided or not) is a distant, distant second. Nevertheless, ultimately, it is the right to criticize America that those troops are defending. Whatever happened to "I firmly disagree with everything you say but will defend to the death your right to say it?" Ripping on the troops makes him a scumbag. It does not make him unAmerican. |

I see the split has begun. This can only mean that football news is around the corner! We can all be friends again!!!! (until someone gets the dropsies, or doesn't start, or struggles at offensive tackle, etc)

It would of been easier if you would of taken it apart, but I will clean it up for you.
First, I said he was a showman, a propogandist, and a fat extreemist. I never said he smelled. He probably does, but I didn't say he did. You just claimed it. Let's go on shall we? Quote:
DON'T EVER QUOTE FOR ME AGAIN. DUMBASS. A half hearted attack is allways doomed to failure. That was the idea behind "shock and awe". The problem is we didn't blast them hard enough. They ran off like cockroaches. We should of hit them in their positions harder like I said two years ago, or 12 years ago. |

You are also right that you did not say that Moore smelled. I did. You said "Ok, he's a showman, a propagandist and a fat extremist....go on..." I followed instructions. I went on. I said I also imagined that he smelled. Dumbass? How amusing. Seriously Mock, is it my typing or your reading comprehension? This I agree with: A half hearted attack is allways doomed to failure. That was the idea behind "shock and awe". The problem is we didn't blast them hard enough. They ran off like cockroaches. We should of hit them in their positions harder like I said two years ago, or 12 years ago. |
