Actually, there are some words that describe it. They were used here: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=115912

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Terrible thread title if its to specifically discuss the ongoing Malaysian Airlines crisis.

You mean the one titled "OT-Russia"

I would've have thought an event of this magnitude would be thread worthy............

I understand that, and appreciate the thread. But I was just pointing out to Dom that its not a good title for someone looking specifically to talk about the passenger plane being blown out of the sky. I flew on Malaysia Air once. Not a bad flight and a newer plane than some of the Delta and Southwest flights I've taken recently.

The nice thing about the Asian airlines is their flight attendants are young and hot.

That is because they can discriminate and control their weight/looks.

Jeez. I was just having a little fun at the OP's use of words, specifically "no words to describe."

I wasn't even complaining about duplicate threads. I've long been a crusader, with signs, about going easy on duplicate thread starters! I believe they should be free! FREE, I SAY!

Upon reading the news, I had assumed it was the same Malaysian plane that went missing a few months ago.

The thing about Russia is that they just come out and admit it when passenger planes are shot out of the sky.

English translation of the conversation intercepted by SBU. Kyiv Post’s Chris Miller reports that the conversation is between Igor Bezler, a Russian military intelligence officer and a leading commander of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Igor Bezler: We have just shot down a plane. Group Minera. It fell down beyond Yenakievo.
Vasili Geranin: Pilots. Where are the pilots?
IB: Gone to search for and photograph the plane. Its smoking.
VG: How many minutes ago?
IB: About 30 minutes ago.
SBU comment: After examining the site of the plane the terrorists come to the conclusion that they have shot down a civilian plane. The next part of the conversation took place about 40 minutes later.
“Major”: These are Chernukhin folks show down the plane. From the Chernukhin check point. Those cossacks who are based in Chernukhino.
“Grek”: Yes, Major.
“Major”: The plane fell apart in the air. In the area of Petropavlovskaya mine. The first “200” (code word for dead person). We have found the first “200”. A Civilian.
“Greek”: Well, what do you have there?
“Major”: In short, it was 100 percent a passenger (civilian) aircraft.
“Greek”: Are many people there?
“Major”: Holy sh__t! The debris fell right into the yards (of homes).
“Greek”: What kind of aircraft?
“Major”: I haven’t ascertained this. I haven’t been to the main sight. I am only surveying the scene where the first bodies fell. There are the remains of internal brackets, seats and bodies.
“Greek”: Is there anything left of the weapon?
“Major”: Absolutely nothing. Civilian items, medicinal stuff, towels, toilet paper.
“Greek”: Are there documents?
“Major”: Yes, of one Indonesian student. From a university in Thompson.

That's actually the bigger question. Apparently everyone knew not to fly over that area and especially that part of the country. Maybe it was secretly something cool like this:

Just be happy Quoydogs didn't start his thread 4 months from now. So his title isn't complete. He tried to hurry to be the first on the board with an important topic. That doesn't happen very often for him.
