If either one of these guys gave half the crap to progressives (who are much more of a joke anyway) that they do conservatives, I might give them more slack.

Also, the reason Fox News pays attention to Colbert (just guessing here, I may be wrong) is probably because Colbert makes fun of Fox News? Also, I read an article about 4-5 years ago that said kiddys in high school actually watched Colbert and Stewart for their news. So, our truly uneducated kids actually take Stewart and Colbert seriously. Who's the joke on now?
Stewart has been brutal to the BO administration over the past several years, and its been hilarious. Stewart admittedly is a "lefty", but he attacks equally, openly and honestly. Sometimes his show makes me sad though cause it can really point out how ****ed up everything is.

John Oliver's show on HBO is a bit similar to Stewarts in that he is an equal opportunity comedian offering some insightful commentary at times.

Perhaps not equally in terms of quantity, but every other episode lately has been an attack on the current administration, its agencies and its screw ups!

Only because it's impossible to avoid them.

(I DO like the show, btw)

I haven't watched Oliver on HBO too often, but when I have I've enjoyed it. I get the feeling Colbert replacing Letterman isn't going to go as smoothly as Fallon replacing Leno has. I think Fallon does a great show.

Fallon has a ton of talent and Colbert seems more one note.

Fallon is more GENERALLY talented and, more importantly, downright more likable.

Colbert, however, is a funnier, wittier person.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Right. My point is that Stewart, though a liberal, isn't just a shill like many would argue. I've really enjoyed Stewart ripping into Obama. That being said that hot chick, Megyn Kelley, on Fox tearing Cheney a new ass a couple weeks ago was more surprising and equally entertaining. I like it when people don't just take the party line. Question everything.

I agree with this. I also don't think he will have the same success. It's like saying just because a player is a great left guard he'll automatically be a great right tackle.

His fake character is a funny witty person, but I haven't seen him as himself.

That is true, Liberals don't listen to talk radio. Strange, but they are much more interested in listening to their Grateful Dead and Phish CDs than talk radio.

Wait ... I annoy you? You should have said something ... IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN!

Actually, couple weeks ago I was all set to do you a big favor. The "Have You Ever Been in a Fight?" thread ... well, I was in a fight just about a year ago, got smashed pretty good a couple of times, you would've loved it! It was pretty long, and I kinda let it fade. ONE WORD from you and I'll bump the thread and post the story. If it will amuse just one person, or you, it's worth it.

Wow, speaking of thread bumps ... this one was 4 days old. I just click on what's in my control panel.

I should tell the story for you, Rev. You and Popps and Alec.

You greatly overestimate how much I care. I find you annoying and don't enjoy interacting with you. That's it.

I still recognize that you're an exceptionally nice person, well educated, etc. and I don't want bad things to happen to you.

I just don't enjoy hearing from you.

That's what the "scroll" button is for. You see the username/avatar of a poster who annoys you and/or that you don't enjoy reading and just scroll on past it. Problem solved.
