Obama and his cohorts refuse to even acknowledge they are in power, it's their fault. You can blame the other President for about 2-3 yrs, after that it's all you Obama.

Can anyone tell me why we are even involved in the middle east? There is no reason for us to be there. None. I dont care if the next president after bush is right, left, independent, or a ****ing smurf.... we needed to get out of iraq and afgahnistan. We have NO reason to be there.

Obama is half way there, now just needs to pull out of afgahanistan.

This is a war that was started based on lies, oil, and profit. How is that so hard to understand? WE NEED TO GET OUT before we reach 20 trillion in debt. Those are our family members over there getting killed over this bull****.

Im an independent....but let me say this... bush was one of the worst presidents of all time and obama can take that "change" bs and shove it up his ass. Thats right, all you people arguing over demo vs repub are idiots. You both ****ing suck. We havent had a real president since kennedy

We can't let our leaders think like some on the board. We have to be involved in the world and all it's problems. Obama has been a poor leader.

This isn't about the Middle East. It's about the US and the damage that the Socialist Progressives have already done.

Lots of people thought Bush was bad, including me. The current administration is a million times worse. The entire Obama administration is corrupt to the bone. All of his policies are making everything much worse.

Yep,meanwhile back in the real world.Gasp! You mean people in foreign countries can fight their own battles? Without the US?

Iraq military halts advance of ISIS north of Baghdad
Iraq's security forces were able to halt the advance of Sunni Islamist militants north of Baghdad Saturday as thousands of Iraqi Shiites stood in line to join up with militias of their own.

However, the militants of the Al Qaeda splinter group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) appeared to be holding onto two key cities captured from Iraqi forces earlier this week.
Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's battle to regain control of his own country has been aided by the large numbers of Shiites who have responded to his and a prominent cleric's calls for ordinary citizens to wage war against ISIS in what is quickly becoming a sectarian fight.

"The Iraqi fighter is well known for his courage and valor, he has never been known to be defeated or deserted," Maliki's office said in a statement Saturday.

Just for clarification, is somebody who supports the idea of Social Security a "socialist progressive?"

I'm not at all surprised that the barometer of wrong is touting the biggest Ponzi scheme in the history of mankind.

I disagree. We do not have to be involved in the world and ALL its problems. The US has no money and is in decline

Like I keep pointing out, the corporations that funded Bush, Cheney, Obama, et al have made hundreds of billions off of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. It's the taxpayers who have gotten ****ed.

Neither I, nor anybody else EVER suggested taking away Social Security for poor people who have no savings.. The fact is, it's an unsustainable program and needs to be reformed. That has been known since it was signed into law. How about people save their own money through mandatory tax-free payroll deductions with a variety of low-risk investment options? It only makes sense. People can have the choice to opt out of the current system if they want, and it would be sunsetted over time. Anytime thinking people have common sense idea's the evil idiot Socialist Progressives shout them down with lies. Nobody is going to take away your SS checks Ro.

What are you going to accuse me of next? That I'm trying to push grandma over a cliff? We all know that the DNC talking points are completely dishonest, that doesn't mean you have to take part. Any sane adult could cut immediately through all the BS, why can't you?

I've mentioned that I didn't support Bush a billion times. We still need to repeal the Patriot Act.

i have no problems privatizing SS as long as it is 100% garuanteed and paid out to every American regardless of whether they paid into it or not.

Spot on.

Obama can't pull out of Afghanistan because the big banks are benefiting from the drug trade --

Robert Fisk has been one of our best reporters on the Mideast for many years. His latest could sober up a drunk.

Local sources are telling him that the partition of the region concluded after WW I is now dead. The Saudi backed Al Qaeda is redrawing the lines.

The same Al Qaeda that Obama is arming/supporting in Syria.

All of which makes Obama's latest threat to intervene so much hot air. The truth is we are done -- US intervention has been a total disaster. MHG

Robert Fisk: The old partition of the Middle East is dead. I dread to think what will follow

“Sykes-Picot is dead,” Walid Jumblatt roared at me last night – and he may well be right.

The Lebanese Druze leader – who fought in a 15-year civil war that redrew the map of Lebanon – believes that the new battles for Sunni Muslim jihadi control of northern and eastern Syria and western Iraq have finally destroyed the post-World War Anglo-French conspiracy, hatched by Mark Sykes and François Picot, which divided up the old Ottoman Middle East into Arab statelets controlled by the West

I don't get SS. I think the program would run fine if you didn't cut the taxes of the richest 1% in half and then pay for it by raiding the SS fund. Means testing would also be a good idea. Sane adults don't believe in the utopian infallibility of capitalism. Only fools believe that.
