Regardless, it's a far cry from the health costs incurred from Obamacare.

I promote and support mandated family tax-free HSA's, which can be used for health care, education, real estate, or retirement. Just like Singapore. I've written several posts about the subject on this forum. I'm not really worried about it anymore, because it's really the only way that works. We'll get to it eventually, even if it takes 100 years, and many more failed Socialist experiments.

There's a big difference between throwing away thousands of dollars ever year on health insurance (Obamacare), throwing away a few hundred yearly for mandated catastrophic (Heritage), and saving all your money yourself, while drastically lowering costs, while increasing quality, and efficiency (mandated HSA's in a private free-market). Mandatory HSA's let's the people keep their own money to spend how they please instead of allowing the government to let corporations confiscate it for an over-priced, worthless product.

Just google Singapore healthcare if you have any questions. It's a 4-payer system (just like the US), but isolates taxpayer dollars in the public system away from the private free-market system. It's the best system humans have come up with, and is a really nice and tidy solution that would make everyone happy.
Romneycare didn't work? The Republican's were sure sure singing it's praises not long ago. Sure seems cheaper then what Reagan wanted, no insurance for anybody and you go to the ER when you have a cold and the hospitals have to foot the bill for the un-insured. Costs skyrocketed. I bet you the insurance companies don't mind that they have millions of new accounts.

Actually uninsured visits to Emergency Room's only account for 2% of healthcare costs.

The primary driver behind skyrocketed healthcare costs is Medicare/Medicaid, another Democrat introduced program in 1965, which represent unlimited taxpayer dollars in a private market, therefore eliminating free-market forces. This is EXACTLY what Singapore DOESN'T do. Here you see US Healthcare spending turn exponential in 1965 due to Medicare/Medicaid:

Under Obamacare, US Healthcare hit a 10-year high in spending growth earlier this year. Democrat's massively screwed up the US Healthcare system in 1965, and actually figured out a way to make it much worse with Obamacare in 2009. It's really quite amazing how horrifically bad their policies have been. Completely against free-market, with inflating costs rising to oblivion.
