That's your 100% profit motivation syndrome right there. But Chris admires that business plan.

Lets bust costs down so low nobody can afford to buy our crap.

At least M&M Mars is still operating in the U.S. Although they have slashed employee pay and benefits with the threat of moving to Mexico.

We need to stop rewarding these companies for moving to another country.

Yes.

Businesses should exist not to make money but to run themselves into the ground.

Sound fiscal plan.

impoverishing labor to cut costs leaves no one to buy your crap. A strong middle class is always been the secret to successful business climate. There is enough for everyone. Just look at America pre 2000.

Even Walmart is not immune.

Companies can pay decently and still make money.... Cite Costco.... And you can tell the difference, and it isn't even close.

I don't care for Hershey's because their chocolate is poor. They may be able to make it for pennies on the dollar, but it sure tastes like it.

The only good product that Hershey's makes are the cookies n cream bars. I like one of those every now and then. The rest is pure crap.

Say what you will about Gatorade, but after a long night out on the town, or when I'm feeling a little dehydrated due to a stomach bug or something, it always seems to do the trick. Could be all mental though, considering how many years I've drank the stuff.

Hearing the word SEARS reminds me of the lingerie catalogs I used to beat it to when I was 14.

Sears Wish Book FTW!

On page 212 of the 1979 Wish Book was the Orange Machine Go-Cart.

Never wanted anything so bad in my whole life. It was orange..and had a motor.

Really, do you taste the difference in M & M Mars products that is made in Texas? I love M & Ms and Snickers!! and I also Like Herseys and Reeses.

I imagine the chocolate made in the U.S. is just as cheaply made as the chocolate made in Mexico.

I do like peanut M&M's, but I am not even a chocolate fan and I can taste the difference between quality and cheap chocolate. No, I don't taste a difference in locations. It's all equally below average to me.

At least you can follow that late night Taco Bell mistake, with another mistake there in the morning. Taco Bells breakfast will ruin your insides.

I don't know about chocolate but I do no that hot dogs are seasoned different per state. Went rafting with a Falls Brand guy. Interesting stories for sure. I don't know why chocolate would be any different.

An amazing example that is American made is http://www.ghirardelli.com/
They're relatively available nationwide.

Pretty cool example of "The American Dream" by an Italian immigrant.
Interestingly, the company is currently owned by Lindt; a maker of fine Swiss chocolates.

There are likely to be plenty of local or regional chocolatiers across the country (world).
Some in Colorado: http://www.hammondscandies.com/index.html , http://www.enstrom.com/ , https://www.chocolove.com/ , http://www.ritualchocolate.com/ , http://www.robertaschocolates.com/

Those are the first few that popped up on a Google search.

Good to know, for those who like to support their local businesses.

Lol, Sears is one of my customer. They weren't sold they bent bankrupt. Eddie Lampert saw a bargain and picked it up. He has been liquidating them ever since. That company is so dysfunctional it is amazing they are still around. Seriously, one of the most complicated companies we deal with.

You live over in Ken Caryl, right... you went to the LDS Ward on Coal Mine and Kipling?

Just a few blocks west is Abiding Hope Lutheran Church in Littleton... their pastor, Dr. Doug Hill, also runs a church in Haiti which they fund by the chocolate and coffee that they grow on their farm down there.

I take it you probably wouldn't be interested in the coffee, but if you swing by between 4-7pm on Saturday or 7am-noon on Sunday you can pick up come of the chocolate from the Church's cocoa farm in Haiti. And it's really, really good.
