Maybe what really happened is simply what's being reported in the news.

Glad he's back. He has things to answer for.

And no, 5 years with the Taliban does not make up for the loss of 6 soldiers looking for him. Not even close.

Makes sense that the military knows he was a deserter and has been ignoring it because they don't want to get into the media ****-storm that would occur if they carried out their duty and shot him.

Default Bergdahl’s father’s deleted tweet

http://allenbwest.com/2014/06/bergda...t-smoking-gun/

Take a look at this tweet from released Army SGT Bowe Bergdahl’s father — which has since disappeared from his account.

“I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners. God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen!”

Folks, this is either a very bad case of Stockholm Syndrome or something far more nefarious is at stake. Regardless, there is more to this than meets the eye of Obama making a unilateral decision and announcement on a Saturday — when he believes no one is watching.

This is not just going to slip away and we’re not going to get caught up in the emotion of Bergdahl’s release. He wasn’t “captured” — he deserted his post.

He needs a fair trial and face a firing squad if he deserted during wartime. We gave up 5 bad guys for this guy? Should have spent the rest of his life living with those he felt so sorry for.

If this guy walked away from his guard duty post in a combat zone, which apparently he did, then he needs to be court martialed. I don't really care how long he was kept in captivity. One of the worst things that can happen is to not be able to trust the buddy next to you. I am sure that was one of his general orders. Then adding in 5 soldiers died looking for him, disgusting. He could, and anyone else would, face the death penalty if they deserted like he did.

Maybe if the fricking Republican know-it-all's would come up with strategies for dealing with Bush Memorial Warehouse inhabitants, things might be different. As it is, decisions must be mad. Eff McClain and Graham and their dupes.

It is too easy to blame a single party for the mess the VA is in. Both parties have held the WH and Congress the last 10 years. The blame is on both. Quick to roll the troops out when they need the pro-America boost, even quicker to turn their backs when the cameras shut off.

Also, isn't Obama supposed to get support from Congress before he starts trading these ****ers?

I thought Congress was needed to do any of this? Do we expect presidents to follow rules and laws anymore or just make them up as they go from now on?

The guy has been gone 5 years and now suddenly is traded for 5 terrorists? What made this deal happen now at this time? Seems odd.

Plus, if true the guy deserted his post, then that opens up even more questions about how much our troops should have spent, some even their lives, trying to find a guy who maybe didn't want to be found.

This story all around is bizarre.

Yes. The law HE signed six months ago says he has to give them 30 days notice. So he broke the law. But as usual, nobody will do anything about it and the liberal media won't hold him accountable.

This is an interesting (and long) article by Michael Hastings. It's pretty amazing how many details about the ultimate exchange he nails. It's hard to believe that this is an article written two years ago by a guy that is now dead.

The fact that hagel didn't even get a clap when he announced this in aghanistan speaks volumes of how the military feels about this. Got some friends in the military and they are livid.

We impeach presidents for blow jobs but not for breaking the law...go figure. I've been on the fence with Obama, but this is a horrific decision. seems like nothing but an attention to deflect from the va scandal. if one of these 5 carries out a terrorists attack Obama's legacy and presidency makes Bush look Lincoln

Seriously. Wtf was Obama thinking? Where is the upside to this politically? I undestand we saved this guy but at what cost? If he deserted why are we saving him? Why let 5 people go? I don't understand this move by him at all. I don't understand how he could do this without congress giving him approval.

I'm talking about average joe afghans. They're of the belief these guys will be put back into circulation pretty quickly. Sure, Americans may someday suffer directly at these guys' hands but the afghans most definitely will. It probably won't take long either.

I do understand. I have had two son's in the military, one still serving. I cannot imagine what his mother has been going through for the past 5 years. But the traitor business does make me question the release and Bergdahl. Still, without those 5 being released I wouldn't feel any safer. I'm sure they were replaced during the time the 5 were locked up.

My concern is that they now know what to bargain with.
