If his last incident wasn't a wake up call I have to think that very soon he is going to sling one too many fistfuls of goofballs and never wake up.

It is sad when people can't stop chasing their dragon.

He is innocent. Its society' fault. He suffers from acute affluenza; the painful, contagious, socially transmitted condition of overload, anxiety, and waste resulting from the dogged pursuit of more.

Not smart to abuse any pills but sleeping pills the worst IMO.

I stopped taking the ambien about 3 years ago. Good stuff, but I am better without it.

NFL roundup: Irsay likely to be suspended

The SportsXchange

NFL sources told ESPN that they expect commissioner Roger Goodell to suspend Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay for six to eight weeks and fine him about $1 million. Irsay was arrested in March for driving while intoxicated and recently had his driver's license suspended for a year. He was charged with two misdemeanors. Each one carries a maximum penalty of 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. An initial hearing is scheduled for June 19.

It's sad that the NFLPA had to push the issue somewhat. It was fully self serving in it's agenda but Irsay should have been disciplined well before this.

how do you suspend an owner from his team? serious question.

"hey, we're grounding you from your team. you can't hang out at your facilities this summer. go on a cruise, buy a yacht and take it for a 2-month spin, go scuba dive in the mediterranean or something. but you can't hang out the the facilities for two months this offseason, young man. also, we're taking $1million of your allowance away. your parking lot revenue from the first preseason game might cover it. i hope you have learned your lesson."

A better recourse would be to take away his participatory rights in NFL owners meetings and decisions or something, but I don't know anything about how all of that stuff works.

They should be making every possible attempt to humiliate him over this.

That pretty much sums it up. He is way ahead of most people and all players when it comes to $. There really isn't that many things you can do to him within reason that would make him hurt financially. At the end of the day he is a junkie who makes poor decisions. This is much harsher than any player would ever receive.
