I'm not a fan of WR's wearing teen numbers... I liked it back in the 70's when they wore the 20's series more often when there wasn't an 80's number.

You said it as if Gonzo was a scrub and Manning just happened to make him look good. IE Blair White.

Because I said Manning has made rookie wide receivers look amazing? That's
%100 true. It's also true of Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie.

Manning is a great QB, but some of it is their talent as well. Not just Manning making them look good.

Nope. Try again.

Latimer was #3 at Indiana, so I expect him to stick with the #14.

Well it's obvious, if you take 1 from 4 (14) you have 3.

You can say this about any receiver anywhere. What is more true is most rookie receivers do next to nothing their first year. Manning as your QB makes this an exception. He's shown the ability to make all receivers look better than they are and to make rookie receivers produce earlier than they should.

And I didn't say it before, but I'll say it now. Anthony Gonzalez was average at best.

Because it's easy.

But moreso because earlier this off season I tried to tell him MULTIPLE TIMES his salary cap numbers were off just by a glance and he tried to hit me with the "you're too stupid to do simple math"/"you're too stupid for me to be responding to"/"until you learn how to do simple math, you're too stupid to respond to....along with his armchairGM bravado posting style. Turned out his numbers were wrong.

He really doesn't know anything though. I forgot if it was Latimer or Roby but 1 moment he hated the pick and 10 minutes later he loved it. Claims that he was "feeling good" yet he goes around touting that people get their emotions involved in a negative way. Then all of a sudden he was an expert of that player and why he's a "perfect fit" for the Broncos. And forget the fact that this guy made lists upon lists of the rookies to be drafted and claimed to be well versed through most the players. Yet somehow you hate the player that the Broncos drafted and 10 minutes later he was a perfect fit? Even though he wasn't on your lists?

He's the true definition of an armchair GM.

And then he got suckered in that Rahim Moore thread. Watch his tone change slowly throughout the thread about Rahim Moore - then at the very end of the thread he says Rahim Moore should be paid around 1.4m per year (armchairgm)... but at the same time Rahim Moore is this ball hawking superstar safety....at 1.4m.

PriceJJ posts garbage - that's really all there is to it.

After the initial string of injuries he was average. Before that he was on track to become the best slot in the NFL.
I am taking nothing away from Manning. But the WR's talent factors in as much as Manning guiding them does.
It's a 2 way street. The guys that didn't have much talent faded after 1-2 seasons without injuries. Garcon and others who were legit went on to have very nice careers.

I suspect Decker wasn't invested enough for Manning/s liking thus was let go without an offer. Latimer was drafted for his tenacity something all of Elway's recent additions have in common.

We really need a subforum for bitchy, idiotic message board battles over trivial details and semantic disagreements.

Reminds me of Ed Mccaffery and Rod Smith, if they had a love child. Should be a borderline hall of famer.

This guy was not drafted for Manning, he was drafted for the OZ era that is how smart Elway is. Latimer is a "fight for the ball' tough physical receiver, not the candy ass Decker was. Manning can make candy ass receivers work but Brock can not. Elway moved up in the second round to give OZ an insurance policy to lean on. What a move !!!

May be considered the steal of the draft before it's all over.
I clicked on the link and watched the vid, nothing on this guy being drafted for OZ and not Manning. Let's just call it as it is, not as you are projecting. The kid, as the video says, has great height, size and speed combo. Great hands and blocks very well.

If you ask me, that's one thing I think Elway does want to get back to. Getting WR's who block good. That's a very important part if you want a great running game, just ask TD. He'll say Smith and Easy Ed were big time blockers for WR's.

Elway learned alot from that Superbowl loss against the Seahags. Obviously yes were were quite injured, but he learned we HAVE to be a more physical team, on both sides of the ball. That's why he drafted this guy. Not because he was a better fit for OZ. Cmon man.
