But I don't think Latimer makes that any more or less likely than it was before.

It was beautifully put by both of you.

We are really deep at WR's. DT, Welker, Sanders, Caldwell, & now Latimer. I think Cody will get a lot of training this year but I think he dresses most game if not all. I see him being used a lot of the kick/punt return teams & coverage units. I think Denver will find a way to work him in the game especially later if we are salting some leads away so he can block with DT.

I'm really looking forward to this guy catching some passes from Manning. I love everything i've seen and heard about the kid, and his interviews are impressive. Just a humble, excited kid, ready to go to work.

I think that Latimer will be very good. My belief is that he will come on gradually as the season wears on.

Sanders will be the #2 and I do not think it will be fairly close, Welker will be the slot and the #3, I think Latimer will eventually pass Caldwell.

I think the plan is for next year to have DT, Latimer, and Sanders in the slot next year.

Provided they keep DT which is a no-brainer.

We do run a lot of 4 WR sets and that is when we should see Latimer on the field during the season.

If all else fails, he seems to have some pretty stellar gambling skills when it comes to horse racing.
If he'd sign for say, 1 year, 2-3 mil with incentives in a reduced role, i'd take him back in 2015.

Highly doubt he replaces Decker this year.

Decker was really good the last 2 years under Manning, dont get the hate with Decker at all. He will be missed.

Pretty excited to see Latimer though.

Vic Lombardi@VicLombardi 6h I'm told Cody Latimer will compete for a starting job this year. Not next year. Like now.

No.

Not in this life time.

DT is a top 5 WR.

Yes, Latimer presents a possible replacement for DT, which would save the Broncos ~$10M in 2015 alone.

Outstanding draft pick giving them flexibility to extend Manning's career by enabling them to continue to invest in the Defense, 2015 and beyond.

Stop the bull****.

Manning is not losing his #1 target - Broncos will do everything they can to keep DT.

So we're just going to let go of a top WR because we don't want to pay him for his talents.

DT is your prototypical X receiver - Latimer I'd say is a prototypical Z receiver.

John Elway has already said 10000 times that he will make it an emphasis to make sure Broncos players remain Broncos players - especially when they are one of the best at what they do.

Your armchair GM mentality is lacking.

I disagree but ok. Latimer is 6'3" tall, same as DT, but he doesn't weigh as much. Latimer ran a 4.39 forty while DT ran a 4.5 forty coming out of college. I doubt Latimer will be better than DT but the measurables are there.

DT actually ran a 4.38 (thought everyone knew this by now?) but you can actually see it on the football field. He has football field explosiveness.

Latimer was listed at 6'2 at the combine - DT looks taller and bigger than him though just by eye test. Latimer is listed at 6'3 elsewhere but I trust the combine measurements.

Latimer also doesn't have that second gear like DT - his 4.39 40 exceeds his football speed which is why he moved up the draft charts AFTER the pro day.

Thomas is in a league of few - up there with the Calvin Johnsons. Look at his production in the playoffs. That should tell you something.

The fact that people are actually trying to put Latimer in the same sentence as DT is just ignorant.

Because it's assumed the top 3 are set and that Latimer will be the #4.

Im happy to have Emmanuel Sanders on the team and I think he could be the #2 WR next year and have a great season. But hes never had a 1000 yards receiving and this is his 1st time in Denver. Theres an opening, potentially, for Latimer to get a significant amount of snaps next year if he can has what it takes.

Latimer has the talent, no question, to be a force in the league. Can he come in right away and contribute? Nobody knows. But Ill take a stab at it.

I, like most everybody here, am nuckin futs about his physical talent. How could anyone not be? But its his ability to go all Fitz on everyones ass and snag the ball out the air that has me most excited. He has great hands and leaping ability. I think Latimer gets a good amount of red zone snaps next season and comes down with some TDs, say around 5. As for receptions, I dont think he'll beat out Sanders total at the end of the season, but he'll still get around 40, where Sanders will get 70-80.

DT and Latimer are in 2 different leagues. I won't even put on NFL tape - you can just see it from watching their college football highlights. You can look at the 40 - but you tell me who is the faster and more explosive football player?

Thomas looks like a beast in comparison to Latimer size wise. Not even CLOSE.

You can just tell by their running styles on whom is the most explosive player.

Latimer honestly doesn't look like a #1 - he looks like a prototypical #2. He could play #1 - but he'll at his best at the #2.

Not even sure where they got that 40 considering he wasn't at the combine.

DT would have been at top 5 and at worst, a top 10 pick had he been at the combine and not have his foot injury.
