Yep.

Sell the team to the Seattle ownership group. Right that wrong.

Even if a few of them share some of his despicable opinions, they are business men who have seen the NBA pull a financial 180 in the last three years. They have a massive TV contract on the horizon and they are not about to let one Racist old idiot screw it up for them.
The problem is that the NBA is a private entity and they enjoy anti trust exemptions.
You as a owner agree to hold up the standards of the NBA and protect it's image, You agree to arbitration over all issues, The Clippers are a branch or even subsidiary of the NBA.

The Clippers are not simply his own business venture and he holes all the shares and is the CEO.
Because of the comments he made and his past transgressions even with them being dismissed or settled it will give the NBA the clout it needs to win any legal action against them.

People forget, Silver was a top notch attorney before he came to the NBA.
He is no slouch in the courtroom.

I love Cuban. He took a crap franchise and turned them into a top notch team and championship winning team.
He is passionate and he speaks his mind.
I was actually hoping he would end up owning either a MLB or NHL franchise.
The MLB thing won't happen because he and the Bulls owner dislike one another and the Bulls owner has a lot of clout in MLB.

They will not move a team out of LA. Too rich a market and the tv rights fees are insane. NY,Chicago and etc top cities are probably the only markets that could make moving a legit option.

Even Seattle wouldn't really be big enough to move them.

He has freedom of speech. He can be every bit the racist ****heel he wants. And the league, being a private company, can tell him to pound sand and go die.

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences. Not sure how people so regularly forget that.

See and this is what some people do not understand. The NBA is a business and a private one at that.
When they make a set of rules and you agree to follow them then you have to follow them or be sanctioned.

He can either sell the team or they will take it from him at a lesser value.

99% of Americans would love nothing more then to allow the NBA to force the sell of the team to somebody who is not racist.

Our current Supreme Court would find some way to prevent that and tell us it's not constitutional, lol.

I like the idea of the Clipper players becoming free agents at the end of the season and then signing with the Kings, namely CP3 and Blake Griffin.

The NBA has a right to protect it's brand
This owner has a right to be a racist pig

What none of us has a right to do is exercise thought control on others.

I applaud Adam Silver for his definite actions. He laid more hammer down in 5 minutes than Stern did in his entire career.

But let's be honest here - this was a huge financial hit to the NBA considering marketing partners were leaving the Clippers, and the financial future of the Clippers was about to crash harder than the great depression. So this is another motive to make such a harsh and definite decision. It reassures future investors too.

Let's remember, Sterling is getting $1 billion+ in cash for the Clippers. Best thing for him to do is hope Clippers make it as far in the playoffs as possible, and the value of the Clippers will go UP.

I'm happy that Adam Silver did what he did - and hopefully this ultimately helps the Clippers get back on track for the rest of the series.

Fine job Mr. Silver.

I really don't care what he said. The dude is a piece of ****, without question. But what kind of America are we living in where freedom of speech is being infringed upon? There is no rule that says you need to like or even be nice to the players you employ. He said what he said in private. He didn't run onto the court and call Chris Paul the N word.

Banning him from the team he owns is complete bull****. The best revenge is that his team will not be able to land any more marquee players. Chris Paul and Griffin will either force trades or play out their deals and leave. He will lose a ****load of money from his actions. There is no need to take his franchise away.

Also, I am sorry to say, but there is a double standard at play here. Had it been Michael Jordan saying stuff like, "I hate my woman taking pictures with all these white cracker ass mother****ers!" There would be little to no issue. It is just fine to be a racist a-hole as long as you are black. But if you are white, you're ****ed.

I know the market/money is better in LA. Just like to see another city get a team instead of having two in LA.

I'm no lawyer, but he's not being arrested and charged with a crime, so it really doesn't apply. At least that's the way that I understand it.

You sound like a mad white republican.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply here. He's not going to jail. He's part of a LEAGUE where they have rules in place. It's beyond just what he said - his actions are also financially detrimental to the league.

I guess I one can't be fired for voicing his racist thoughts in a workplace right?

And let's be clear - he's not being forced to do anything by 1 man. He has to be voted by at least 22 other owners.

And are you serious?? - what he said was beyond calling a black people a ****er or a white person a cracker. He clearly has plantation owner mentality.

The fact that you couldn't see any of this - tells me you're a closet racist yourself. But I think you got that from my 1st line.
