NASCAR package?

looks like you may have answered your own question there. either way, investing in pass rushers is not a bad thing for the short term or the long term.

Most of the DE's projected to reach us aren't known for their run defense.
Plus we already have those guys on the roster. It's pass rush that was the issue and still is even with Von back.

So your advocating a first round RDE, noted.

Can't have enough pass rushers IMO just keep rotating them keeping them fresh

Your not going to take Ware, Miller off the field on passing downs..

There's your two DEs on passing downs.

Use Miller as the Joker, blitz him up the middle, have Miller/Ware on the same side of the line.

Nascar package, among other things.

3-4 alignments.

Sure, a hand full of that, but predominately we will be seeing 4-2-5. That's our Nickel alignment, and that will be what we use the most on third downs.

Sure, but depending what LB they get, we could go with some 5-1-5 alignment, using Ward as the box safety like Sea uses Kam.

Easy fix, use a 2 DE set, a flex DE/DT, leave Von and Trev on the field.

I say that, and then I look at the 2013 film against Tennessee. I didn't see a single instance where he disengaged from the block or used his hands to beat a block.

the Broncos aren't married to that alignment and if another pass rusher were to be added, it's certainly conceivable the man of the river could and would be creative with the nickle and other subpackages.

As another poster said, adding Ward adds another element in allowing the d to be creative in its play calling

Yikes, i didn't see that. Lacy had some punishing, game changing runs that made him look special. I didn't see one rush from Ball that made him look anything more than a possible late all pro add at his ceiling. I just don't think defenses worry too much about his speed, shiftiness or power. He's got to have something. Seattle knew we had nothing back there. I hope i'm wrong. I thought he was awesome in college, last year I was really bummed.

Alright, so take it for what it's worth. A colleague of mine helps fun a select bball team here in the DFW. Sean Payton's son plays on the team with my colleagues son as well. Well Jeff told me today that Sean and him usually talk occasionally about like and Jeff tries to keep up with Sean's kid to make sure they're happy with the team. He specifically said Football is rarely ever the topic. Apparently, Sean LOVEs Logan Thomas....as a TE. I guess they've talked to him and told him that if they draft him that half of his time minimum will be concentrated on learning the TE position. Just thought it was kinda interesting though I know not a new idea as other teams probably feel the same way.

Hmm, but that would mean the Bucs would have to take Bortles at #7 if it's true that Minny wants Bortles.
Though it was said that Minny now wants to wait til the 2nd for a QB.
Would be funny to the projected picks of each team flip flopping.

One NFL GM told The MMQB's Peter King that Broncos HC John Fox "loves" Minnesota DT Ra'Shede Hageman.

The Broncos received solid play from Terrance Knighton, but tended to rotate Malik Jackson in during sub-package situations. Jackson responded with stellar play. The Broncos draft Sly Williams in the first-round last year, so a heavy rotation will be used if Hageman is the pick. We doubt he will still be on the board.

When asked to make one bold prediction, NFL Network's Mike Mayock suggested Nebraska CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste could be a first-round pick.

"He’s what today’s NFL is all about. He’s too long [6-3 and 213] and moves too well for this not to happen," Mayock told Peter King. We would be stunned by this. Sure, SJB has size, but he only pressed around 34 percent of the time last season and lacked a physical attitude when doing so. Teams are hoping to mimic the Seahawks defense, but we do not view Jean-Baptiste close to a first-round talent
