He got hurt in Week 2, he should be ready by camp if not Week 1 at worst.

The plate in his foot is already off i believe.

According to sportstrac guards make more tha RT. They are 6 guards making over 7 MM and only 1 RT over 7MM

Top 25 guards make about 3 times more on average than the top 25 RTs

I think it is a good decision. He doesn't handle speed rushers well at RT and the entire league knows it for sure now. I think he'll likely move on next season as well. OG and OT look like priorities now in the mid rounds. Players that can sit and learn this year and start the next. Clark showed well at LT, so I think he'll move on after this coming season as well to chase that LT money. Means we need one at each position unless we really think Painter is the RT of the future.

I still think we go CB, WR, FS, MLB in the first four rounds in some order. That would put us in the OG/OT market somewhere in that 4th-7th range. Sure would be nice to land Brandon Thomas. And maybe a Justin Britt or a Cornelious Lucas.

Yeah I am all for it, and I agree that I think Guards can make just as much as RT's in the NFL, if not more. I think Franklin just looks more like a guard and will be a stronger player there. You are supposed to play your players at the position that is going to work best for them. He couldn't handle speed rushers coming from the 9 technique, and he even admitted that he struggled with that on the radio. So I think it just makes sense. This will make our line so strong, I can't wait!

That would lead me to believe Franklin would be gone more. If he bossed at guard he will show his versatility and demand a pretty big payday.

Been leaning this way ever since they let Beadles walk without even so much as a second thought.

Clark is signed for another year after this year.

I dont know about FS, i can see CB/ILB/WR though, at least early, OL being the other with those in the firs 4 rounds.

My mistake, if it goes well there, he should get a hefty payday from someone then.

Even still, money-wise, he doesnt get a huge change, we'll see how it goes.

this is a smoke screen to try and hide the fact that the broncos are going to draft OG in rounds 1 and 2 this year

how does it thin the line out?

Instead of Clark being a back up at tackle Montgomery is a back up at guard and Painter is back up at tackle or if he beats out Ramirez than Ramirez is back up at guard.

Too me it is putting your best players on the field.

and they can draft more depth as well

Not surprised at all. Clark had a very good season and hes clearly a starter in this league. I was surprised though by a lot of draft guys who thought we might take a olineman early in the draft when the Broncos have 5 capable starters.

Agreed. I love Clark as a swing tackle. I was wanting a stud left guard that could start for years in the first 2 rounds. On the bright side, We can now use that pick to hopefully get an immediate contributor on defense.

Could not agree more. If Franklin, Clark, or God forbid Clady go down...uh oh.

Makes me think they are taking a cornerback in round one.

I just don't like painter seeing the field. If Clark went down I could see Franklin moving back over and Montgomery at guard though.

I think you answered your own question.

Depth is a concern, but its much less worrisome than depending on a rookie protecting PM.

If Shazier and Mosley are both gone, I don't think there's any doubt about it. Unless a total stud we didn't see falling to us somehow does
