It was obviously a failed attempt at humor.

Thanks BB! Appreciate all the hard work.

jebures- Damn! You got the only other player (Chaz Sutton) I really wanted.

Maybe I'm just too cheap.

James Wilder, Jr., RB, Florida State

Like father, like son! Has a father & son ever played for the same team in the NFL?

Now if Jr. could only stay out of trouble!

Eathyn Manumaleuna, DT, BYU
$22,500 Arizona Cardinals (ludo21)

Once all was said and done with the UDFA bidding, there were 5-6 GMs with contingency bids that hadn't been used AND those players hadn't been picked up by anyone else. I hadn't done the thought experiment completely before we started, and it hadn't occurred to me that we still might have unclaimed (but wanted) players.

So, I decided to go ahead and award those players as if they had a bid on them, but assigned them a value of $0 -- MUG was the main beneficiary, as he had more than 10 players that nobody else wanted. Given all the positive vibes he's added to the mock draft this year, I felt he deserved it....

Next year, I'll probably do the same thing but institute a cap on the number of contingency bids you can place (30 maybe?). Otherwise, GMs will put bids on 100-200 players, and I'll be cross-checking data for three weeks.....

How about a cap on UDFA to include contingency bids? $100,000 or whatever number everyone agrees to is all anyone is allowed to spend. Just putting the suggestion out there.

That's actually what I originally intended to do. However, if you've still got a contingency bid sitting there on a player nobody else did, then you've got de facto bragging rights, right? In which case, why not just add it to the haul? In which case, the cap on the number of players you could be on in total would be the restraining factor to keep it from getting ridiculous.

Anyway, it's a conversation for next year... for now, I just want to bask in my awesome UDFA haul. Ladarius Perkins for $16,000? I'm king of the world!

Lol, I got Glenn Carson and Marcus Williams. I knew I should have went under more on Williams and got Linsley too -- I would have with my original bids that I edited. Darn.

Dammit. I should have stuck to my original bids on Gardner and Washington.
I thought I was going too high but I would have beaten the top bids by 2k each.

Don't bother, dude. You do enough for this as it is.

The $0 contingency bid will do nothing more than motivate those who are only concerned with bragging rights.
