Default Broncos Work out Miami Basketball player

CaneSport.com was the first to report that Erik Swoope went through a workout with the Broncos on Thursday and Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald snapped a photo of the session while it was going on. He averaged five points and 2.7 rebounds for the Hurricanes as a senior forward and never played football for Miami coach Al Golden’s squad.

Swoope is listed at 6-5 and 220 pounds, which would make tight end or wide receiver seem like the spots he might be able to fill on a football field.

Eh....not really. This kid has never played football. He is UDFA/tryout material.

Miami does not have much to offer in this years draft: a studly punter, a poor man's Kyle Boller, a mammoth OT that screams bust and a hard working and smart interior OL who probably would be good in a ZBS as a borderline starter that will get overpowered at times, and a small but tough WR who will be a slot guy in the league. I'd take the punter over Colquitt and that's no joke and I'd take Hurns late as a developmental slot guy but the rest have issues.

They will have a lot more to offer in next years draft.

For them to try a guy out that has never even played football, he must be a physical beast with some great speed for a guy that size.

As long as the dude believes he won't be too shabby, he should make the team.

I wouldn't score him quite that low. But most of the things we ask out TE's to do are receiving related or sealing down the field for our bubble screens or RB's.
We are not a power run team that asks the TE's to always line up and blow guys off the line in a standard way.

Yeah your right about the bubble screens and what not and yeah our TE's arent really asked to do much in the blocking department, but last year there was clutch moments when we needed JT and Green to block and they got raped also got raped in the Super Bowl just saying
