I wonder what took so long? Was Elway really weighing the possibility of moving on from Fox? This has been an interesting non-story as it has played out. Very little speculation about Fox and his future here, except for the area media.

It's ultimately about personnel. I was surprised we made it to the Super Bowl as banged up as we were. We've been able to field a constantly competitive team. Fox has won the division three years in a row, one with Tim Tebow at QB. That's as many division wins as Shanahan had his entire tenure here. If we keep choking in the playoffs, you can expect Fox to get the R66v6s treatment.

. Divisional champs three years running. One with TT at QB, one SB appearance with a spare parts defense.

Gase most likely will be gone. Which sucks cause he could turn out to be a great HC for a long time.

Fox doesn't win this year it will be 3 years of Manning, and one year of a Madden play station roster. If Dude can't win with these guys he's never going to win it.

I wonder if there's a boneheaded time out/challenge clause in there.

Fo sho. He's what we needed after McD. But the guy can't gameplan to save his life. In the biggest game of his life. Where's the killer instinct? Shanny had it no doubt.

Not really spoiled. Just don't want to see anymore blatant derps. No better example than the 2nd half kickoff. That was telling the other team we too scared to play straight up. You can always count on at least one head scratcher per game with Fox.

And, with the best offense of all time, nothing in the end except an epic embarrassment. That defense even with the spare parts in place wouldn't have changed things. Yeah if I were SD, Oak, KC, I'd be in 7th heaven. The Denver Broncos are not and should not be satisfied with 2 very surprising game losses that Fox is greatly responsible for. I'm disappointed and am wondering Elway's strategy.

I am surprised that they did this now, I really didn't see them inking a deal until he proved there would be no drop off during the season, say 4-8 games in.

I guess Elway considered the injury personnel losses and gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Sounds like Fox gave back a year if he really ripped up the contract for this year which works out to a 2 year extension which isn't huge and ends with Manning's original contract.

Fox is a smart, sound football coach. He won't ever be a wunderkind innovator mostly because he is at the end of his career but those guys usually flame out. He does have a stable system and he gets the most out of his talent and uses everyone during the year as long as you dress for the game which I like because if they are called on to fill in there is only a drop off in talent, not prep.

Here is to hoping he wins us 3 SBs over the next 3 years!
