Well had the trade not gone down Denver fans would of turned on Jay many years ago and Denver would be handcuffed with no Manning and probably a 15 mil or more hole with Jay Cutler at the helm. The picks Denver from the trade were blown but the real reason for winning the trade is Denver isn't giving a huge contract to a mediocre QB.
The beginning of the downward spiral....

I feel bad for Orton, though. He didn't ask to be traded and the day he was he drove his car down to Denver to meet his new teammates and begin practicing with them immediately. He instantly became one of the faces of the changes everyone hated - and received too much hate for doing next to nothing wrong.

He wasn't Cutler, so people hated him. He was a McDaniels selection, so by association they hated him more. He kept Tebow on the bench, so Teboners REALLY hated him. And he kind of sucked at football and the team sucked, so Bronco fans in general hated him. I felt bad for Kyle Orton. And if you feel bad for your QB every week, you know things are terrible.

I'm still mad at him for just dropping that fumble on MNF when he had a wide open Julius Thomas which directly led to us losing to the Raiders.

Yeah, he was pretty much facing an impossible situation. If he was an upgrade over Cutler I think it would have been a moot point but everyone knew it was a downgrade. I too felt bad for him but the losses kept on coming and it was what it was.

Yes, we all know AS was a 2009 2nd that they got from trading a 2010 1st that became ET. You asked if it was their own pick for DT or one from a trade, people broke it down for you.

I got it. He came from a series of trades starting with the Bears pick at 11.

I was at that game. 3/16 for 7 yards i believe was Simms stat line. The Redskins stadium doesn't announce stuff so i had not clue why Orton was pulled out of the game. Since he was standing on the sideline holding a clip board i thought McD went full retard and pulled him for missing a wide open TD pass at the end of the half.

Worst game ever.

Yeah, I was at that game.

That was pretty terrible for the Skins to call time out on their OWN fake FG, then line up the same way after the time out, and throw a TD.

Orton got hurt after hitting Marshall on two long blown coverage TD's in the first half, and Simms could do absolutely nothing in relief.

you b****es be crazy. Without Orton, we would not have KingNeckbeard, skank swording, jack danieling loving twitter poet.

Kyle Orton (@KingNeckbeard) tweeted at 11:48pm - 29 Dec 13: I knew I shouldn't have listened to that brokedick coach's advice! Right before the last play he says "Just try to do what Romo would do" (https://twitter.com/KingNeckbeard/st...17516605255680) Get the official Twitter app at https://twitter.com/download

Kyle Orton is the first, and only thing in the world that made me not even want to watch Broncos football.

In retrospect, dumping Cutler was one of the best moves this franchise ever made.

I'm sorry. Are you actually suggesting that this team would be better off with one of the leagues biggest douchebags under center? I guess I could stomach it to some degree if the player was actually accomplished, with some real career achievements...like maybe more than one playoff win in an 8 year career.

Lulz, just saw ESPN ran a story on this. Have to love this line.

Quote:
ESPNChicago.com colleague Jeff Dickerson made a salient point during a Jan. 31 Four Downs feature when mentioning that “when a team surrenders two first-round picks, a third-rounder and its starting quarterback to acquire a supposed franchise quarterback, and then reaches the postseason just one time in the five years after the deal from a team that ends up reaching the playoffs three times and playing in the Super Bowl over the exact same time period, the winner is obvious: the second team. Spin it any way you want, the Broncos crushed the Bears on that trade five years ago.”

So you're not actually disagreeing me, but engaging in an ad hominem attack anyways?

I think I understand why you'd feel some allegiance to Jay. And Johnny Manziel.

That would imply I was bothered by it to begin with. Maybe a less than functional retard would believe that they could have that effect, but certainly a functioning retard would not.

Orton...

Who can pass the ball if there is no pressure. Or corners. Or wind. Or bright sun. Or the game is no longer a contest.

If these conditions are met...probowler/HOF'er...

He would give you juuuuuuuust enough hope during garbage time that we were going to get back into the game, only to rip your heart out and stomp on it.

I still don't hate him. Josh McDaniels yes, Orton, meh. He was a throw in on that trade anyway. Josh took him until he could draft a QB he thought he could mold. That was supposed to be Tebow but Tebow was so bad in practice he made Orton look good. May Josh get a raging case of incurrable diarhea. Jackhole. But Orton is a back up QB, that's all he ever should've been, both him and Matt Cassel. I guess Josh likes his backups.
