Default NFL to allow in-seat visits from Cheerleaders

ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta) — The National Football Leagues has partnered with an app developer that will allow fans to get an in-seat visit from cheerleaders.

Sports Business Journal reports the NFL has teamed up with Experience in an effort to help improve the in-game experience for fans. On top of having cheerleaders visit fans in their seats, the app will allow fans the opportunity to upgrade their seats and also allowing them to be on the field before the game.

The Falcons said they sold about 800 experiences per game among its 3,000 season ticket holders.

“Anything from pregame on-field, to a birthday message, to cheerleader visits, to mascot visits, to the fly-by pass, which is a dedicated lane where you don’t wait to get into the stadium,” Jim Smith, the team’s chief marketing officer, told Sports Business Journal. “All the experiential things sold out within the first four hours they were made available.”

I bet the cheerleaders involved hate their jobs a lot more.

This is the one thing the Bruins have on most teams. The ice girls are EVERYWHERE and fully accessible before, during and after games. Handing things out (rally towels, posters, etc), throwing free T Shirts around, taking pics, selling raffle tix. 90% of their time is spent in the crowds and in the tunnels around the seats.

This will last 2 weeks at most and the league will end the cheerleaders going into the stands. What guy isn't going to try and have a cheerleader sit on his lap or cop a feel?

A guy who doesn't want to get his ass beat and thrown in the stadium jail. You can bet security will be all over this.

I hear Raiders are all for this and promised to bump up their cheerleader pay to $5.75 an hour.

I doubt they will go alone, (at least have security with eyes on them not too far away, so you might get a handful in before they haul you to jail).

And "handies in the standies" should be the unofficial motto.

any guy who is going to actually use the app in stadium to get a cheerleader in the stands is not the type of guy who will be a gentleman. why else is he calling her to his seat in the first place? To ask questions about her cheering for the Broncos or for the hope of maybe copping a feel?

This experiment will end badly

The Mane never stops surprising me. Having a Cheerleader visit fans in the stands somehow has become "The Cheerleaders are now going to be escorts." From what I can see, they will go to a section and wave and say hello, maybe take a picture with a fan - you know the stuff Cheerleaders already do at any event where they interact with the fans like a fan fair or blood drive. They aren't going to be sitting the whole game in your lap chewing on your ear.

But please keep freaking out, everyone.

Did you read the article?

Quote:
Three teams – the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks – used the app last year and Brian Lafemina, the NFL’s senior vice president of club business development, believes that number will increase substantially.
