My early money is on Franklin not being a bronco after next season.

He's sort of avg but if we got a mauler at guard in the draft, or franklin could play gaurd, maybe we can still get better inside.

The most important part in all of this is that Montgomery was cut so does not count in the comp pick evaluations.

He regressed badly last year from all I read. Would rather have Evan D-S but at least we got some depth. I think all this does is replace Kupe.

I doubt Broncos get much if anything in comp picks.

He will be given a chance to compete, but he is likely our backup C/G that dresses on gameday, with Clark or Franklin starting at LG. Justice is the dressed backup OT. I am sure we will draft another interior, but now we don't have to fill a big hole.

Cutts as things stand and depending on the ranking of their net losses they are in line for 4 draft picks for:

DRC
Beadles
Phillips
Possibly Ayers depending on aav.

Talib cancelled out Decker
Ward cancelled out Woodyard
Sanders cancelled out Moreno

The signings of Ware and Montgomery do not count as they were cut by their respective teams.

The only way the net gain of 4 picks will change is if they sign any UFA's between now and 1st June that were not released by their teams, or if the net value of the last of our 4 picks is below 32nd in rank order of selections.

I didn't think it went just starter for starter. I thought they weighted them and no one knew the formula? But know that you list all we lost I agree it's more then I realized. Lots of turnover this year.

The only time if gets complicated is when there's more net loss than picks to be awarded. Max is 32. That's when teams start losing picks via net value.

Not a sexy move but a prudent one.

With Mike out in Washington, he may have sent Elway to him, which obviously means this will be a homerun.

Good signing. Losing Beadles and Kuper meant we had to get somebody for a good value who can swing inside. Could be a starter, probably a solid back-up. Nothing wrong with having a dude who was a starter be our back-up who can play in a pinch. Great value.

Montgomery was drafted in Carolina when Fox was there. Probably has absolutely nothing to do with Shanahan.

He held his own, wasn't great by any stretch. I'd rather him stay put at center.

Maybe they are just preparing for a repeat of last summers center situation.

Surprising Griffin didn't lose his spleen there. Knighton's left elbow hammers him below the rib cage. Griffin is a tough dude, he's a gamer. The lack of elusiveness there, getting hammered worse than Matt Schaub, Shanahan used that guy up in two years. Shanahan traded the future for Griffin, then proceeded to run him hard.

Griffin had the 4th most rushing attempts in the League for 2013 QB's, and that was only 13 games played. 2012 season Griffin 2nd in the League for QB rushes.

It is very interesting two of the top four QB's for rushing 2012 and 2013 are Kaepernick and Russell Wilson. Coincidentally, the starting QB's for the two NFC West teams Super Bowls 2012 and 2013 are, yep, Kaepernick and Russell Wilson.

Kaepernick should have won that Super Bowl against the Ravens, the Ravens were on their heels, and then the 49'rs LOSE ON DOWNS after having first-and-goal at the seven yard line.

That was a shocker. Those were four consecutive bad plays. Jim Harbaugh looked dazed and confused for their last two series, Kaepernick was looking for leadership and Harbaugh got the glazed look in his eyes . . .

exactly my thoughts...depending on signing bonus, 1.3 million is not bad if needed to be cut during TC

Has only given up 5 sacks in the last 3 seasons (only 3 at OC, gave up 2 in 2011 in the 3 games he started at LG). He was one of the top 5 PFF rated OC's in 2012.

**** his spleen, it is surprising he didn't need spelunking equipment or a chilean drilling crew and a rescue capsule to get back up.

WM was one of the best centers in the history of Virginia Tech, which typically has exceptional line play. Painter also played there. I'd take him over RamMan at Center..especially with Mr. Quick Release back there handling "bidness"

Interesting that his deal comes with incentives for playing time.
