Easy now. We can't discuss "vision" of RB's here because according to a certain poster here, you have to be an NFL scout to comment on an RB's vision especially if that RB is CJ Anderson.

Moreno at the start of the year > Ball

Ball at the end of the year > Moreno

We watched Ball progress and show flashes of a player on the rise. We dont know his ceiling. Moreno we do. Broncos thought the same way. It's not just going to be Ball CJ and Hillman. Lots of time yet.

Anyone got stats on Moreno catching the ball out of the backfield before this last year?

I was a big CJ fan. I had high hopes. When Peyton was able to pick him up and put him in the spot where he was supposed to be I lost a little hope.

Great way to sum it up. If you want to criticize Ball for anything at this point it would have to be the length of time it took him to digest the playbook and really get rolling as a rookie.

We're past that now though. 5.9 YPC the second half of the season ain't too shabby....

Dang, I'm kinda sad he left. Really enjoyed his competitor spirit from the past year. I wish him nothing but success (except against us, of course).

I think CJ will be a large contributer to run game this year. He has been good in his few carries.

I dont know why we drafted hillman. A guy that small better move like sproles and he just doesnt. It was obvious from his college tapes that he wasnt that type of player. Worthless pick imo.

But they didnt draft him because they thought he was the next sproles. Sometimes you swing and miss. it happens. And in the 3rd round, it happens more often than not.

This place is so weird. Knowshon leaving was a foregone conclusion, and then when he does, people freak out about our depth. I swear its the same story every single year.

haha I feel the same. I said goodbye to Moreno the moment they called Monte Balls name in the draft. Kind of surprised he didn't supplant Moreno last season.

I'm not worried about runningback. Obviously we'll pick up another one (or more) somewhere in the draft/undrafted rookie free agent signings.

Have you guys considered that maybe Moreno didn't want to come back? Even Elway made clear last week he'd be the #2 behind Ball. In Miami, you know he's thinking he can at least beat out Daniel Thomas. And the Dolphins coaching staff doesn't have complete trust in Lamar Miller, either. He has a great shot to grab the starting job and run with it. Compare that to basically no shot in Denver, unless Ball goes down.

We will miss Knowshon, but I think Elway wants a fast dynamic runner. He might be waiting on Chris Johnson to be released or to find a speed back in the draft (Dri Archer?).

I often wonder about the drugs you're on. What are you talking about?

Also, CJ Anderson is like 5'8, 225 lbs.

I saw him at TC and he was stout. Looked like the heaviest RB on the rooster. We are talking about CJ Anderson, right? He was a stout dude back in August

I'm sauced about this deal!

Truth be told I just don't feel much sentiment towards these McCheat guys. It's a shame these guys are tarnished like that but to me they are just a reminder of a very dark and miserable time... the time McCheat was here... that prick.

I don't think Ball will need to be in pass protection as much as Moreno was last year. We should be running the ball more next season anyway.

Like Decker, the Broncos made no real attempt to keep him. I wish him well, but Ball will be better IMO.
