The way we structured those, these guys get paid early for performance. If it's 2 or 3 years from now and they are cooked, we get out clean.
I agree. I would resign Phillips at 1 million a year. Also I would invest in a couple maulers on the OL and we need RB help. No need for Allen, but it does look good on paper if he was signed.

I live in the Chicago area and just about everyone who knows I am a Bronco fan have taken it easy on me. Just about everyone of them have said that had we scored a FG or moved the ball in the 1st drive it would have been a different game, which is plain as day but true.

I do think that if we really played the seathugs 10 times like the one player mentioned I do think we find a way to win 6 of those. No way they get that kind of turnover production every time.

If they did that it would be very late in FA, likely to come after the draft. Phillips had a great year. I would think someone like Chicago would jump at the chance to get that kind of production he had last year.

Agreed, and I think we win about 4 of the 5 in which we win the toss. I believe we won every game last year when we had the chance to defer. Instead we said, "Here, just take the ball both halves. And while we're at it here's 2 points plus a return TD. Anything else we could get you?" And they said a pick 6 would be nice so we gave them that too.

I think after the 3rd real offensive possession it was 22-0. I'd like to see that game played without everything going wrong from the first snap. It was a really interesting matchup, and I think even with the injuries Denver still had the slightly better team. Funny that all three of Denver's playoff games were over by halftime. It was just a volatile team last year.

Jared Allen is a Bear

Quote:
ESPN.com news services
The Chicago Bears and free agent defensive end Jared Allen have agreed to a four-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
LM: #Bears bolster defense by agreeing to terms on 4-year deal with DE Jared Allen, one of NFL's most prolific pass rushers.
- Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) March 26, 2014
Allen has 128.5 career sacks, 12th most in NFL history. He has seven consecutive double-digit sack seasons, including 11.5 last season in Minnesota.
Allen also had visited the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks during free agency.
The Bears will introduce Allen next Monday.

Ha ha. Good. We won't see him again there and it keeps him off the hawks. Love it. So much for caring about winning.

Tough to say where the Bears are headed in the next couple years. Offense has a decent sized window of being really good, but the defense still has some gaping holes to fill. And they're in a division with Aaron Rogers.

It fills a big need, for them. They just lost Julius Peppers. Allen would help fill that void...

Maybe you missed the news that they re-signed DJ Williams. He raises all boats... especially SoCal's.

Well that ended with a whimper. So he wanted to go to a winner and get paid.
Chicago's D is far from being able to get them to the playoffs this year.
Glad he didn't go to Seattle but Seattle will still find a way to make some moves and get better.

Seattle didn't test them. Seattle walked in, put heir muddy feet on the white couch, drank their beer, and kicked seven shades of **** out of them until they gave up and went home.

When the majority of your QB experience has been Matt Cassel,Tavaris Jackson,Joe Webb,Christian Ponder and again Matt Cassel.
You would think Cutler could win a title too.

I thought the SeaThug deal was done?

Then I turn on the radio in the car today and they said he is a Bear.

In reality he is smart taking 8 mil instead of 5 or 6. The chances of picking sb winner is a shot in the dark. At this point take the money and run.

He also feels he's a full-time player, it's hard to argue against that. Didn't he close the season with 6.5 sacks? I heard Seattle wanted him to rotate with the other guys, at this point he would've been a luxury for them.
