Feels weird linking a BR but the guy writing it not some no-name blogger. "As reported here last week, former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen was asking for some big money at the start of free agency. His contract hopes may have something to do with the fact that Allen has yet to latch on with a team. Now that the first wave of free agency has passed, Allen's camp has put out the word that he would be willing to sacrifice some money if he thinks he can win a championship. But even if he were to join an upper-echelon team, Allen still is hoping for a salary in the vicinity of $6 million a year. Whether he will get that much at this point is debatable. But the Seattle Seahawks could be the team that fits him best." **** the Seahawks and their min-salary QB situation. That said, we're around $7 mill and will probably free up $2.5m by cutting Joel Dreesen. We can free up another $3m by letting Jacob Tamme and his 1 TD on 20 catches for 184 yards go. So the question is, would you free up $5.5 by cutting the two of them to sign Allen? It would allow us to still have a good $5-6 mill or so for the draft, etc. On the flip side, signing him would limit Quanterus Smith. However, he's an unknown. |

![]() Sure hope our 20m QB has that team cured of the lacksidasical go through the motions attitude we saw to conclude the season. 8 points won't get it done in any way, shape or form.

![]() For being the parity league, seems like there's 4 teams clearly above the rest this coming year.

![]() Meh, Allen is wearing down. He was not a plus player last year, despite his sack totals. I'd rather have Ware, but 6 million compared to 10 is reasonable I suppose.
As for the repeated calls to cut Tamme and Dreessen, meh. Dreessen, yeah. Tamme is a valuable number 2 and versatile all-around player. Julius has had a lot of issues staying healthy. Tamme is valuable as a guy that can step in without much dropoff when Julius inevitably gets hurt. Dreessen can go though. |

![]() There were 13 teams (6 playoff) that tried to call ware and were interested. That many for Allen? Ware would've been snatched up real quick if it wasn't broncos.

![]() The idea of
Miller - ![]() Allen-Knighton-Sly-Ware Is ****ing absurd though. Four different players that command double teams on passing downs if we send Miller in. Teams right now know they have to worry about Ware and Miller but if you add in Allen it seems insane. We're letting Ayers walk and he quietly had a very good season for us. Phillips is gone too. Ware fills one of them meaning a draft pick or Smith/McCray fill the other if we don't get Allen. |

Browner was basically gone all year. Their only real losses were Red Bryant, Chris Clemens and Golden Tate. None of which are going to be game breaking, especially if they get Allen. Getting Allen and dumping our TE's makes us stronger and hurts a chief rival for the Super Bowl. O is not our problem. We can just draft depth. Don't forget we have Virgil Green on this team too. |

I think last year was Seattle's dream season and they don't reach the Super Bowl again for a long time. Just like I was this year, I'd still be more worried about teams like the Chargers, Patriots, and Niners. |

![]() It seems very unlikely that Seattle will make it through next season virtually injury free (minus Percy Harvin who they imported banged up). They are not nearly as deep as the Broncos are.
