and Moss was coming off his worst season as a pro, while Jackson is coming off his best. that's a bit of a difference, even taking Moss' otherworldly talent level into account.

Prob a bad example since Moss wasn't cut but I couldn't think of any other high-profile WR who was given away. Especially when Oakland gifted him to New England.
Yeah, the Vikings also received a king's ransom for him (#7 overall, a 7th and Napoleon Harris). Pretty dissimilar circumstances to a likely release.

Look for a desperate Bill Belichick to sign him, then say they "did their due diligence" and the rumors are unfounded. Beli knows Tommy's seasons are numbered, and would sign Charles Manson to rub the tarnish off their legacies.

The Redskins don't really either, although it can always be created. The Browns and Jets sure do -

Reid drafted and coddled him, maybe he was hoping for a discount or they have something in works should he not get any big money bites.

Someone will take a flyer on him, just hope it is not kFc or Pats.

The Redskins better get creative as hell and write a check he can't leave town without signing.
They need another WR to pair with Garcon and RGIII needs as many weapons as possible.

Damn, if KC doesn't want him he has to be damaged goods.

They are in "any life preserver in a storm" mode over there.

it will cost the eagles 6 mill in cap money to dump Jackson. they feel it was worth it to avoid his punk ass clown fool mentality that has a bullet in the script.
If he doesn't get a deal done he will probably shoot his agent.

...the Eagles released Jackson a few weeks after the Buccaneers released Darrelle Revis, the Cowboys released DeMarcus Ware and the Panthers released Steve Smith. All three were released for financial purposes, as was Jackson. Revis, Ware and Smith are all older players than Jackson, but Jackson is more of a two-aspirins-and-damp-washcloth-on-the-forehead issue, a prima donna who gets into sideline tussles, has mental lapses and is always grousing about money. Had Jackson been released at the same time as Revis and the others, it would not have gotten much attention. Or maybe … all of them are in a gang! The same gang! Check their hand gestures and alternate spellings!

The Jackson release came instead during a weekend with little other NFL news. The NJ.com article came out during the same NFL lull, perhaps not coincidentally. The Eagles did not cut Jackson because of the article, but they no doubt reasoned that the article a) would sabotage Jackson’s trade value; and b) soften the blow for fans, who do not want to hear that an exciting young receiver was released over money.

Jackson is a douchebag. He had a good year last season but did little to nothing the one before. Now he's kind of being lumped in with Aaron Hernandez lol

Good luck getting that cheddar...

He missed 5 games to injury the year before. He's apparently negotiating with two teams right now.

God it just hit me that the Pats are looking for a wr. Hopefully they dont sign him. Happy to see the chiefs out as well. Maybe hes so screwed up thats hes a liablity, but I still dont want to face this guy during the season and especially the playoffs. He should just go and die in the NFC. Washington sounds like a perfect fit both in culture and scheme. Theres not many better west coast wrs than Jackson.

Well the pats have gotten some solid performance from gang members in the past. Constructive members of the team until they go all gangie and kill people. Who knows.

I know but he also looked disinterested the rest of the time he was on the field that year. I have no doubt someone will pick him up but he's not going to sniff what he was getting paid in Philly with his inconsistency and off the field issues.

And because of that, he'll probably be whining about his contract next year... again.

It would be pretty ballsy for the Pats to go out and sign another player linked to gangs and homicides. If anyone can pull it off it would be them tho.

I'd be shocked if the Patriots go after Jackson after the Aaron Hernandez drama.

I bet he'll go to Washington just so he can stick it to the Eagles twice a year.

DeSean is a weapon, but he has to be coddled all the time. I saw he has a record label he's trying to promote, and that's where the gang affiliations come into play. There's some shady characters in the record label business.

The Raider Nation came out in full force to appear at the Redskins facility, urging DeSean Jackson to sign with Oakland.

I have to admit, the Raiders have better fans than the Broncos. Denver has too many lame white people like Ray Hogan, Steve Fesch and BroncoCaliJohn at their games. I would rather drink 40s and smoke blunts with the hood rats.
