Maclin resigned as did Cooper.

Desean is what he is...he is one of those loud mouth WR's that will cause problems where ever he goes.

True, he's a prototypical diva wide receiver. He'd be a perfect fit in Oakland, with the other Bone Thugs N Harmony.

I'm sure the Raiders would love to get him and have no one to throw him the ball. Well, Schaub, but he'll be spending more time on the ground or running for his life.

I cannot believe Philly would outright cut a guy with this kind of talent.

Is he that much of a locker room cancer? Philly came on strong last year and I don't see them with anyone of his talent on the team.

I don't get it. What am I missing, why would they just want to out right cut him?

Chip Kelly doesn't gel with these types of players apparently. From reports here in Philly...he is a huge off the field distraction. He just signed a contract recently and since he had a big year wants to renegotiate.

Who knows.

They're getting Jerod Mayo back too.
Brandon Browner was on our roster also. Undrafted free agent.

Everyone's waiting for him to get cut because he won't restructure his deal.

Even Belly learned that you need to put up with a drama queen WR to win games. He is hamstrung with a WR he didn't draft but the dude has performed. If Jackson is talking about holding out then I could see why they would cut him but it would be hard to replace his talent. John wanted Doom to restructure last year, look how that worked out for us last year.

I know WR's don't impact games like RB or QB's or even good OL players but this guy is well suited to Kelly's type of quick pace O.

DeSean Jackson's gang connections troubling to Eagles

Over the past several weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles reportedly have begun to shop wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

On its face, the decision to trade one of the NFL's most talented players would seem curious: At 27, Jackson is coming off one of the best seasons of his career -- 82 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns. Plus, he's a playmaker who should thrive for seasons to come in head coach Chip Kelly's fast-paced offense.

Yet the Eagles' apparent interest in jettisoning Jackson likely has little to do with his performance on the field or a big-money contract that could squeeze the team's salary cap. Rather, sources close to Jackson and within the Eagles' organization say, it's Jackson's off-field behavior that concerns the front office. A bad attitude, an inconsistent work ethic, missed meetings and a lack of chemistry with head coach Chip Kelly are the reasons, sources told NJ.com. And when the Eagles looked more deeply into why Jackson was missing meetings, they found that his friends were becoming a more powerful -- and negative -- influence in his life.

Now the Eagles have even more serious concerns -- Jackson's continued association with reputed Los Angeles street gang members who have been connected to two homicides since 2010...

What a terrible move, unless there's more to the story than we know. He's a big part of the success of that offense. Chip Kelly's arrogance will be his downfall.

Supposedly is affliated with a gang. And the Eagles will have no part of it, nor will many other teams. Unless something changes...it might have been his last season in the NFL. He's supposedly been linked to two murders.

EDIT:

So linked to people that have committed murders.

In light of that article on the gangs and the Hernandez situation I don't think even with the Teflon Patriot Way BS they could do it.

I'm not sure you're reading the posted information about him being tied to gangs??

NE just lost a player who was affiliated with gangs and was also a murderer.

I do not blame them. He has had issues for awhile now and he always cries about his damn contract.

I've seen some speculative stuff on it but nothing concrete at this point. And with Belichick's level of arrogance I wouldn't rule anything out. But, with the Hernandez stuff as a factor, perhaps not likely. Which is a good thing. Although him landing in San Fran or Seattle wouldn't be much better.

He was their leading receiver and a huge part of what they do on offense. So unless there's something significant to this gang stuff one could certainly "blame them". If this is just a personality conflict with Chip Kelly then it's not a good move. This isn't the Pac 10.
