Default Rodgers-Cromartie

turns down 54 million from Denver and watches, Talib, Davis, Verner, Revis, and Shields strike it rich. Now he gets to go play for the Jets for a TON less. What an idiot!. He went from getting PAID and a chance at getting a SB ring to playing for the Jets! Damn this idiot did us a huge favor! Thanks DRC!

Playing for the Jets? Article didn't say anything about him getting signed. I'm sure he will get paid. Just not $54 million, paid.

Him and his agent are dumb for turning that down, he could have been a perfect example of a 1 year rental getting rewarded. He will be good in the Rex Ryan D too.

Who didn't see this coming though?

Retiring?

It was a scream for GIVE ME DA MONEY.

In his shoes I suck it up and try to get another 1 year deal from a contender and score big next FA.

Man, idk why but for some reason I kinda feel for the guy. I know that I shouldn't, he's already made way more money in his life than I ever will, wherever he ends up.

This is great, maybe the Jets can give the Pats a run this year. They did beat them once last year. Jets could be most improved team in NFL.

His agent did him a disservice by overplaying his hand.

Thats the thing Punisher, the dude is a very solid cover corner but cant tackle worth shiatsu and is next to worthless in run support.

If I had a buck for every time he would veer away or pretend like he was making an effort to impede a RB or WR who was running free with the ball last year I could have bought a pair of Super Bowl tickets!

Talib is a far more well rounded corner. Im hoping for a speedy Harris recovery so he can play at full speed by end of August and for Kayvon to make the kind of second year leap good corner prospects often do. Especially with all the personal mentoring he got last year from his idol Champ. I suspect we will see a big jump up in his performance .

But we still should take a top tier CB in either the first or second round of the draft too. Can't have too many studley CB in this league as the Seahawks showed last month.

So....the article states that we targeted Revis after DRC turned down the offer and found out that he was asking too much, when then turned our attention towards Talib.

Revis got 12 million for one year from NE
For the first 2 seasons, we are paying Talib 20 million, with 12 million coming in year one.

I wonder how much more Revis could have actually costed if we gave him a big contract.

I'm curious about this myself. I'm excited about Talib, but I've always thought revis would look good in a broncos uni.

DRC made a big mistake turning that contract with the Broncos down and if he ends up with the Jets for big money they'll be expecting Revis production that's the standard for big money corners now with Jets fans and they even expected it of the young rookie Milliner from Alabama.

Lets face it the Jets will have a good defense as usual but Geno Smith is terrible for every good game he plays he plays 2 god awful games where he turns the ball over 3-4 times.

Yep. Jets were the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team last year, and it started with Geno. Beat the pats, get b**** slapped by 40 against cincy. Beat the saints, get destroyed by the bills.

I don't know why you guys are so mad at the guy, saying **** like he's dead to me. His agent tried to haggle and it backfires. That sucks hard for him, I'm not sure where hate comes into this.

How do you know it's all on the agent? Some of these dudes are so full of themselves they won't negotiate or accept a very fair offer which is what we offered. It suggests that he thinks he can do better than our fine organization. If that's the case...again, **** him. We moved on and actually got a better corner. That's all I'm saying.
