Honestly the D-line has been good for 2 years. We've just been injured there. The past 2 years on the Dline you've seen Vickerson, Knighton, Miller, Wolfe, Dumerville. Ayers was a #1 draft pick there as well as Sly and Wolfe was the 1st pick of 2nd round. It's not like the Dline has been ignored. It just seems like it hasn't been addressed since last year obviously losing Doom in FA and Miller missed plenty of games with suspension and then injury, Wolfe injured, Vickerson injured.

This is what the Dline is going to look like this year. I think this is a big time strength of ours. From starters to depth.

Wolfe, Miller, Ware, Knighton, Vickerson, Jackson, Smith, Williams

Not too shabby

After releasing defensive end DeMarcus Ware and seeing him sign with the Broncos, the Cowboys have agreed to terms with former Broncos defensive end Jeremy Mincey

Thank you John Elway

Talib and Ward = Champ and Kuper. We only really added Ware so it's not some frenzy spending spree like some have made out

Ware, Jackson, and Miller all rushing the passer at the same time. God I'd hate to be the QB facing that.

Jeez, why would we ever do that? Allen wanted same amount of money as Ware and we went after the guy we preferred. Why is it so hard to understand?

Ware was more expensive then i thought he would be but **** it, it's not my money.

I sort of thought Allen and Ware would be more like 7-8 mil a yr, not 10.

Oh well the dream of both of them is gone lol.

Broncos most likely slow down soon and then wait for bargains to fill the role players, depth, and maybe a punt returner.

Devin Hester anyone?

Would rather see a serious LB like Smith and perhaps a RB like Moreno/or his replacement.

Great minds think alike. Will not surprise me if he gets major minutes next year over Wolfe.

^Smart man and/or smart agent!
This is true but his cap number in Dallas was over $16 million. That is why he was cut.

I think Elway understands that all the offense in the world won't matter if we can't stop people. You lose Decker and Moreno and let's say you only get scraps to replace them, you still have an insanely good offense and a much improved (especially if healthy) defense.

So what else is left, now?

Defense
FS - If you're not sold on Moore to be at least above average
Nickel CB - Because Webster is physical but probably not quick enough to get it done.
MLB - The big one.
DL - I'm not sure how Ware and Miller fit into our scheme and to be honest i'm not that knowledgeable on defensive schemes in general, but it still seems that outside of Knighton that we have a ton of question marks on the DL. Williams did not look good. Wolfe has weird issues. Ayers was serviceable but pretty meh (is he even on the team anymore?). Jackson was okay at times. Seems we need one more to feel good about this group but I could be wrong.

Offense
WR2: Caldwell? Doesn't seem tall or physical enough. WRs are a dime a dozen, though. The big x factor here is Peyton. Can we trust a guy to come in here in one offseason and learn the offense?
OL: Well, Kuper and Beadles are now gone, Clady is on the mend. Looks like we could use some help here.
HB2: I'm thinking Elway is waiting to see what Moreno gets for offers. In a perfect world he comes back. Otherwise, we know what they think of Hilman, I doubt anyone in the front office really thinks CJ Anderson can get it done. Perhaps another draft pick?
QB: For at least the next season we are doing great, but if we have the opportunity to draft a QB that John likes i say we do it. I look at Brock and.. i don't know. I think some players you can tell by looking at them that they just don't have what it takes and when I see Brock on the screen he looks like some oversized high schooler that won a ball boy contest and his dad somehow talked his way into letting the kid have a jersey and pads for a game. Except he's there every sunday and, right now, he's our QB after Manning is done. Yes. Let's draft a QB.
Solid points. Here's my opinion on where we go from here.

Nickel CB - I would imagine that Harris would play Nickel and Webster (or a veteran FA) would play LCB in Nickel subpackages. In our base defense, Harris would go back to playing LCB. Regardless, we'll add another CB either via draft or a low cost veteran FA for depth.

DLine - I think this is one of our deepest groups now! Ware/Quanterrus at RE, Sylvester/Vick at weak side DT, Pot Roast/Vick as the other DT (Unrein can also rotate at either spot to spell the other three), Wolfe/Jackson as LEs that set the edge for Von and kick inside on passing downs. I imagine that is how our front will look next year. Solid depth, great versatility of run stoppers + pass rushers.

I think we address MLB, WR2, OLine (depth is really what's needed if Franklin kicks inside to guard), and CB depth (unless we sign a veteran FA) in the draft.

I imagine we'll pick up a journeyman HB2 on the cheap as teams continue to cut guys to clear cap and open up roster spots. I don't trust a rookie backing up Ball. Would rather have a mediocre veteran back there. A James Starks type on a cheap deal.

Oh, and you forgot a need - we still need a punt/kick returner. Maybe one of the WRs or CBs we pick up in the draft can come in and play that role.
