Don't forget Malik Jackson was looking solid as a role player too.

And the return of Vick.

The more the merrier.

I don't have a problem with them going all in for a couple more Super Bowl runs.

I understand from Ian Rapport Denver had the same offer on the table for Allen. $10MM a year not 10MM over 3 years

So when it all comes down to it....we traded Champ Bailey and his 10 million dollar salary for Demarcus Ware. I'll take it!

Well, I'm not sure how it gets better than this. And could there be a more clear message on Elway's part? He's losing his starting RB and WR2 and hasn't even flinched while gunning for the best available free agents at defensive positions of need.

I think Elway understands that all the offense in the world won't matter if we can't stop people. You lose Decker and Moreno and let's say you only get scraps to replace them, you still have an insanely good offense and a much improved (especially if healthy) defense.

So what else is left, now?

Defense
FS - If you're not sold on Moore to be at least above average
Nickel CB - Because Webster is physical but probably not quick enough to get it done.
MLB - The big one.
DL - I'm not sure how Ware and Miller fit into our scheme and to be honest i'm not that knowledgeable on defensive schemes in general, but it still seems that outside of Knighton that we have a ton of question marks on the DL. Williams did not look good. Wolfe has weird issues. Ayers was serviceable but pretty meh (is he even on the team anymore?). Jackson was okay at times. Seems we need one more to feel good about this group but I could be wrong.

Offense
WR2: Caldwell? Doesn't seem tall or physical enough. WRs are a dime a dozen, though. The big x factor here is Peyton. Can we trust a guy to come in here in one offseason and learn the offense?
OL: Well, Kuper and Beadles are now gone, Clady is on the mend. Looks like we could use some help here.
HB2: I'm thinking Elway is waiting to see what Moreno gets for offers. In a perfect world he comes back. Otherwise, we know what they think of Hilman, I doubt anyone in the front office really thinks CJ Anderson can get it done. Perhaps another draft pick?
QB: For at least the next season we are doing great, but if we have the opportunity to draft a QB that John likes i say we do it. I look at Brock and.. i don't know. I think some players you can tell by looking at them that they just don't have what it takes and when I see Brock on the screen he looks like some oversized high schooler that won a ball boy contest and his dad somehow talked his way into letting the kid have a jersey and pads for a game. Except he's there every sunday and, right now, he's our QB after Manning is done. Yes. Let's draft a QB.

Sly as well. If we're healthy this D looks nasty on paper. Whether that translates to great play on the field will depend on health and whether they gel as a unit.

They're all pretty much the #1 FA at their respective positions. That's where the hate stems from.

Aha! I misread that then. Good, otherwise that would not have made sense.

Not all the front 7 can be studs. Broncos will need some role players to step up.

But they now have 6 legitmate studs on the defense IMO. Travatheon, Miller, Ward, Talib, Ware, Knighton. Fill that in with even 5 avg NFL starters and it could be among the best defenses the Broncos have had.

Me too, but Im excited to see a fully healthy and full speed Quanterus Smith as well opposite Ware too! He had all year to learn with the team and get up to speed mentally and adjust a good deal to the NFL and knows the Broncos now and will have a full offseason of prep.

Between QS rotating with a healthy and hopefully fully restored Derek Wolfe on one side and DW on the outside with Malik Jackson rotating with him for breathers as well as sliding inside and subbing for Wolfe. and Pot Roast, a no doubt improved Sly Williams in year two as well as Pot Roast in the middle with a healthy Kevin Vickerson in rotation then plug Von in as LB to roam the Dline causing havoc, it will be a nightmare for opposing Olines and QBs!

WE need one more solid Corner in the draft or FA as well as Rahim coming back strong and Chris Harris which seems a given with his moderate ACL injury, our secondary will be significantly improved... considering Kayvon is likely to take a big jump up in year 2 as well.

WE need to bring in a stud at MLB and some defensive bench as well as another FS candidate that can push Moore.

I hope we grab a solid vet RB in remaining FA as well as a good vet guard and draft one as well. WE also need a capable WR to replace Decker and we should be able to find a decent KR in the draft who can play WR as well.

You have to love Elway and the aggressive response to the superbowl. What a way to blow away the reaming debbie downer feelings left over from the suckazz SB egg we laid.

Go Broncos!!

Yep. And in less than the first 24 hours of free agency, too.

22 hours to be exact.

Elway just made 3 major splashes happen within 2 days, there must not be must water left now. I F-N love it !!
