Nearly 8 million combined for Colquitt/Prater next year is horrible cap business.

Like Elway but one of his few mistakes as GM.

Both those deals will be restructured.

This

Elway scoffs at being called a mistake. Who do you think bought Prater the sixer that got him busted? Instant leverage..... Pure genius

Price, so you're projecting a 153 cap next year?

There we go. The top 53 with a practice squad estimate. I'll keep updating as practice squad/injured reserve information becomes available. Looking good for now, but it all depends on how much the cap raises next year.

$145M plus rollover. It might only be $140M plus rollover. I put $145M, because there was a blurb on pft saying "expect it to rise to about $145M in 2015". Nobody knows right now. Right now our rollover is ~$8.22M.

There's some good news. The Broncos have five 2015 RFA's on the roster. Re-signing them (T Carter, B Marshall, P Cornick, A Brewer, S Johnson) will be super-easy and cheap. Factor in about 8 or 9 draft picks making the roster (including this years practice squad guys). And all they have to do is re-sign a handful of internal FA's for real money. They'll have flexibility. Especially, because they have guys like Roby, Austin, and Garland who can become starters if necessary.

It would give massive flexibility to re-work Colquitt and Prater contracts, but that decision comes next year. The Broncos have successfully re-loaded with a good mix of home-grown talent, and impact FA's, with a ton of super-cheap, good, and young depth.

Look at the Broncos roster in contrast to the Patriots roster. Bellicheat has been trying to do this for the last decade and has not succeeded. He's offloaded good vet talent for inexpensive, bad backups because he can't draft well, and doesn't make good FA decisions. The "Patriot Way" is sleazy, leaving a bad taste in everybodies mouth while stripping the roster of talent.

The Broncos organization truly is the class of the NFL.

I could see Peyton's contract becoming a delicate situation in 2015 if we keep winning and Elway keeps rolling over double digit cash figures.

Its one thing if the team is strapped and barely making it under, but if this happens next season and Elway is working with an extra 10-15 million, Peyton could ask for a raise and probably get it.

Id like to see them give some of that extra cash to a guy like Chris Harris this week.

4. Orlando Franklin
5. Terrance Knighton
6. Rahim Moore
7. Quinton Carter

It all depends on Elway's ability to make all these guys happy. How he does in re-signing his own draft picks are the only waters that Elway hasn't navigated yet. The money is there, with minimal backloading into out years when the salary cap goes even higher.
I might put Green over Carter but i still doubt we can re-sign all of them.

Cant keep all your homegrown stars but this is the first year Elway can re-sign his hand-picked draft picks.

So we'll see.

Go to the top, shows dead money hits.

We dont have much dead money next year.

Maybe our K/P's next year.

Since they make way too much.

Broncos still need a good Dime Safety. I used to think there was no way to re-sign ALL these guys, but there is if contracts are structured correctly. Good news to me.

Depends if Elway can get a few of these guys to give a little hometown discount.

Manning if anything should give some money back so we can help keep some core players.

I highly doubt he asks for a raise.

He's well compensated with his contract.

If Elway asks him to give some money back, I'm pretty sure Manning will give it to him $8,268 at a time.

Let me ask you this... If we win the Super Bowl and Manning walks into Elway's office next March and says " I want to play 3 more seasons and I'd like a new 3yr/$75 deal". You're telling me Elway, with 40m in cap space, will say sorry Peyt, can't help you out?
GTFOH.

You could make a case, like Jordan in the mid 90's, manning should be getting paid 20-30% more then the next highest paid player. That's how much he means to the team, city and league.

And why should manning not be making more money when the league and owners are seeing record profits? That makes him a bad guy ask.

He has a 21 mil cap hit next year.

We'll cross that bridge if it happens.

If he plays out his deal and wants to play 2-3 more years after that, you have a point but i really doubt he'll want MORE money when he's making alot as it is.

I'll bet Manning is worth over 100 million, he's not about the money he loves what he does.

I'm a Manning fan, but it's clear that the dude likes money - a lot. I don't think he's ever turned down an endorsement deal. I'm just waiting for the Peyton Manning approved Home Pregnancy Test. "Pee on this stick and if you see Peyton's head appear you know you've got a fetus."

The only reason he got those Oreo commercials was because Troy Mcclure thought they were "beneath his dignity."

I like it. Depending on how much of his forehead turns green determines the difficulty of the delivery..

forehead means an easily delivery

forehead means it is equivalent to pushing a football through a # 10 can.

3/4 forehead means you better have a Caesarean section.

Full forehead - kill yourself.

Fully updated heading into the season, including Welker suspension, Prater suspension, Tamme restructure, Practice Squad, IR, and Dead Money .

Barring injury, I expect there to be another update to adjust upward for McManus and Palmer once Prater and Welker come back (~$200K total for 4 games).

OTC updated it to 8.2 mil under.

Price, does that mean we'll have 8.2 on top of the money we have going into next year.

So hypothetically if the cap is 145, we'd have 41 mil in cap room?

OTC has at 28 under with a 140 cap.
