So I'm not the only one with lundy-induced nausea. I've pretty much stopped listening to the morning show because of him. Whiny little b****.

Logan's a great guy, great insights. Krieger was smart and funny. Now it's the afternoon news with Logan and Susie Wargen. I have nothing against her, but man, it's awful.

I will miss not having Sandy Clough on in the mid mornings during the Broncos season. I'm in the car from 8:30 to 9:30 and he is the best in local sports talk. He is grounded and knowledgeable and, best of all, non-self-promotional.

Can't stand Lundy. D-Mac is getting on my last nerve. There is a pompous attitude on the fan overall towards Denver sports listeners. I hear it all the time regarding D-Mac and even Sandy got into the mix this afternoon speaking to the fans over the air during coverage at Sports Authority today like we're stupid. We might be for leaving the radio station on.

Poor Dom, always confusing his senses and his media devices. Stabbing your eyes doesn't make the radio go away.

I just noticed how bad this sentence is. Honestly, I'm sitting on the crapper, typing on an iPad. Apparently, that makes me write like a caveman.

This is making mad! Uggah uggah uggah!

Absolutely. They were great together.

And I agree that Lundy is really hard to listen to. He'll say things he thinks are brilliant or clever and they are not. I do like Vic though. Liked him better with Gary Miller. Their repartee was better. Mike Evans is on of my least favorite personalities on the air. I don't mind Dmac when he's not trying to stir the pot. It makes him look like a small person when he does that. And I realize he's literally a small person. I like Big Al. I like Sandy. Scott's ok with the right person. That sanctimonious baseball dude they have him and Sandy with is not the right person. On the fan I really liked Nalen. The rest I can leave.

I'm grateful as hell for Denver radio once training camp starts because then I don't have to listen to all the knob slobbering about Utah and BYU that we have to endure on utah sports radio when the Jazz aren't playing.

I can barely stomach DMac but it's better than listening to apologists and homers talk about how great Utah should be and why the Big 12 should beg BYU to join. **** me!

I say that knowing full well a good friend of mine who is affiliated with sports radio in Utah frequents this site. He knows how I feel.

I always hate it when the local station(s) go to syndication, but it's usually for budget reasons. Not sure Denver can handle 3 sports-only stations, but we'll see.

Kreckman will be good on his own; he was great when he had his late morning slot. They'll add someone eventually; bet is Hochman. But I think Joel Driesen would be pretty damn good after some seasoning.

Yes, Sandy Clough is better on his own.

Yes, Lundy is the most dislikable and annoying Denver sports radio personality since Steve Harmes.

Not sure why the hate for DMac or Al; that show is what it is. DMac is there to try to entertain and Al is there to say stupid **** 65% of the time. If you're going to listen to that show you have to know that going in. At least DMac puts his time in at Dove Valley. Dude is always there. That's more than you can say about most of the hacks.

I like too that the Fan added their late night show. At least it's something to listen to. The young guys on mile high sports can be entertaining too, sometimes solely because they are saying stupid ****.

DMac says literally any thought that pops in his head the second he has it. So he says dumb stuff and flip flops. I actually like their show because they have a really good dynamic and it can be funny.

Coupled with afternoon traffic, Big Al and Dmac's banter can be like nails on a chalkboard. They frequently go on bizarre tangents and take ten minutes to relay two minutes of information. Rarely are they funny to me. The whole show feels poorly produced, and, furthermore, as much as it pains me to say this; I'm sick of Al's late ninties Super Bowl stories. It's starting to remind me of Oakland Raiders homers who still shine their Lombardi's going back to 1983. I usually listen to ESPN on the drive home as a result.

What a bummer about Tom Nalen. He really made that show better, imo.

They had Ron Zappolo on 102.3 recently and he sounded great. Wouldn't mind him having his own show on any of the local channels.

y'all are lucky to have choices. Here in Charlotte, there are 0 FM stations dedicated to sports talk. There are two AM stations, one of which is mostly ESPN syndication. The other one spends as much time on college football, basketball and the Dallas Cowboys as they do the Panthers even in-season. off-season, throw in NASCAR and Panthers are barely discussed.

I'm just saying - you guys are b****ing about how much boradcasters suck, but at least you have multiple choices, and can get them on FM. And, they are very Bronco centric, even in the off-season.

KOA's cancellation of Dave Logan's sports talk show proved, ironically, his immense popularity as a broadcasting personality.

But it also served as a reminder that traditional AM radio, in Denver and nationally, continues to lose listeners to FM programming.

The 3-7 p.m. weekday series is being replaced, beginning Monday, by the "Colorado Afternoon News," a program similar in format to the station's weekday morning series.

Logan remains the key ingredient, teaming with Susie Wargin of KUSA-Channel 9 sports in the important 3-5 p.m. block providing news, weather, traffic and sports. They will not take listeners' calls.

KOA staffers Susan Witkin and Mike Rice take over from 5-7 p.m.

Why the change?

The show, in which Logan teamed with Dave Krieger, a former sports columnist at The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News) was not a sports talk audience ratings champion in its time period, finishing second behind Alfred Williams and Darren McKee on 104.3 FM The Fan in the key, 25-54 male demographic.

And KOA executives (a.k.a. Clear Channel Communications) seemingly feel a four-hour news block will be more in concert with daytime news and talk shows such as those featuring Rush Limbaugh and Mike Rosen.

But as several local broadcasters note, AM radio revenues and ratings are down in all day parts. Clear Channel must believe the best chance for AM profits to rise is to use a news-political talk format throughout the day.

Programming quality was never an issue on "The Dave Logan Show."

Logan and Krieger were an excellent team, communicating strongly with listeners on all things sports, but particularly on the Broncos, almost a religious subject.

Logan's career as an athlete and broadcaster (at KOA since 1990) and Krieger's valuable sportswriting background gave the program a personal, balanced and informative feel.

They communicated on human levels an important attribute in talk radio.

While Logan was not available for comment, sources said he was not happy with the decision, as he found out about the change Wednesday while doing a solo broadcast. His final comments on that show before 6 p.m. showed he was irritated.

A Rockies game dominated the KOA Thursday afternoon schedule and Mark Johnson, KOA sports director, filled in Friday, giving bare essentials about the change.
