Sucks! I always rooted for him.

Oh well, now he has more time to go fishing in Alaska!

I hope he coaches for the Fighting Souix! That way my short kid can play/learn from him.

It's only football Kuper will find all sorts of great things to do in life. He's married, obviously has parents who love him, and most likely has a good degree right? He has the connections from having played pro football and that can only help in the business world as other men long to be close to pro athletes IMO.

He will be fine and will find new ways to kick ass rather then on the football field.

Hopefully his time with the Broncos will open up some doors for him.

We have more depth along the OL than the secondary especially with Champ gone and DRC floating out there in limbo.

sucks, dude was a good player. too many freak injuries in football, but I guess it just comes with the territory. as fans we see people get hurt and/or retire and it's just kind of part of a larger picture of following a team and a sport, especially because of how often we see it. but if you think of it in terms of yourself, it's pretty ridiculous. NFL players have wanted to be football players their whole lives, and for a huge percent of them it just ends one day through no real fault of their own.

He was one of the better interior linemen we have ever had, I was really hoping he could come back. Reading his dad's posts has also been insightful. You will be missed Kupe.

It makes me very sad to read the news of his retirement -- he will be missed. Wishing nothing but the very best for him and the family.

This news really sucks. We all knew it was likely coming, but that never makes it any easier. I was really hoping he'd be able to make it back as quality depth.

Hope Kupe now feels like he can join the OM now that he''s not a player. Would love to hear some of the stories. Just think what he went through. His career spanned a very interesting time in Broncos history. Talk about a roller coaster ride.

Thanks for everything Kupe!

I was moving my family all week. And while being asked to leave our complex early and being screamed at by my neighbor, as we began to unload all our crap into our new place, I just didn't have the time to respond to this. I will do so now:

Kuper should count himself lucky. He came out of a really small school and played twice as long as the average NFL player gets to play. He also saw that coveted "second" contract that very few get to see. And I don't mean the journeyman re-up with a new team to play special teams every season kind of second contract. I think Kuper had pro-bowl potential, and at one point was playing at that level. Unfortunately it is a tough league and it's hard to stay healthy for very long in this league. I am grateful he was here and will miss his power and agility inside. That said, I think the Broncos will be more than capable of finding more linemen to fill that interior spoty...just apparently through other means besides the draft, I suppose.

Anyway, glad that Kupesdad will still post. He and his wife is good people and will provide a great point of view for parents of players.

Not going to lie, that was really anti-climactic, Kaylore. It's almost like you want to pretend the two of you didn't have an almost decade-long love affair.

Definitely disappointed.
