Elway drafted a total of zero of those three you named... I wouldn't mind drafting a mid round rookie but I hope we sign another vet wr

I like Talib a lot, but I do have two reservations with the addition:

- I don't think he's as good of a system fit as DRC, though.
- It's a lot of guaranteed money, considering his background.

But those nitpicks aside, every accomplished and talented defensive player we can add is a step in the right direction.

I'm not exactly thrilled with the signing so I was trying to get some other viewpoints

Which would you prefer all things being equal? Or is it a six in one hand/half dozen the other?

Here's what I love about what Talib, Ward, Ware (still hoping on Ware)

Every last one of them are gritty, gritty competitors. DRC was a stud, but a complete and total athlete... just put it this way, he would never win a tug of war with someone of the same height weight strength etc.

Ward's attitude is enough that it has earned him a reputation.

We all know Ware is high-motor, loud, mean player.

I don't think this is an effort just to add talent to the defensive side of the ball, but to also add an attitude at every level of the defense that all great defenses have.

These are attitude signings as much as talent signings. We already have a finesse Offense, so we can't court out a finesse defense to match. Time to get nasty on one side of the ball.

Now lets go get Darren Sproles/Emanual Sanders!

While that would be great, the Saints are now looking to trade Sproles. I'm not sure it's worth it, at this point. Elway is bringing in guys that he feels can compete, and losing one of those guys would interrupt that plan...

He hasn't needed to.

JT at TE was no slouch.

I would like to see the Broncos explore signing Melton. Had he stayed healthy, he'd have been an all-pro DT candidate.

We have the luxury of some interior depth that could make a boom-bust signing like this off his ACL tear a potentially huge impact move.

Hmmm... I thought they ended up cutting Sproles? Must have read that wrong somewhere. There are very few running backs in the NFL I would trade more than a 6th for. Damn would he be a good pick-up though, he takes care of four positions (spell RB, PR, KR, 4th WR). Put him in space and he is dangerous. Definitely an under-rated player in this league.

That would be a good signing and potentially a steal at a bargain price. But who knows what money it would take. It would also mean the release of either Vickerson or Unrein. But I would love this.

Brandon LaFell - WR - Panthers

The Broncos are reportedly showing "huge interest" in free agent WR Brandon LaFell.

I think we sign a guy who can be the number 2 receiver and draft a guy in the middle rounds who learns as he plays a backup role. we are on a super bowl hunt, not the best time to be counting on a mid round rookie to play that large and type of role.

Ill take Lafell

Good blocker, doesn't completely suck as a possession receiver

Not a Decker replacement, but between him and Caldwell we can manage

I say let's get Steve Smith and finally get a physical receiver.

Good post, I forgot about how useful he would be for our return games. We won't have Decker or Holliday next year and it would be nice to have something certain back there.

If people couldn't handle decker dropping passes no way they'll handle lafell.

I don't see the Broncos doing something like Melton with all the other needs they have.
