We got blown out of the Super bowl.....because of our Coaching and preparation. Having said that our offense stunk up the place.

That's right...our offense stunk up the place (Special Teams also)! Our defense did their part in my opinion.

Major disappointments:

Offensive line - They were owned...owned! And it was across the board! Not one offensive lineman earned their pay!
Moreno - Too slow and not enough power for a power defense
Decker - Poor routes and plays small for a guy his size...doesn't post up
J. Thomas - showed inexperience and zero talent

defense did not do their part. they stopped Lynch but only because it didn't matter. seattle converted third downs at will and we had no answer for any of their receivers besides Tate.

I was calling this last season too. Clark is not an ideal Guard IMO. Doesn't have the power and size for short yardage. He definitely proved he can play outside and he HAS played RT before. The move puts your 5 best players on the OL if Beadles leaves and as somebody pointed out, it's very cap friendly to us as well. We need that coin to sign some rugged defensive players.

Having Harris and Moore would have helped. Like I said, we were about as beat up as a team I've seen in the Superbowl and those seahagfags were about as healthy as you can be.

I agree, I expected Clark to struggle being a backup but Franklin was owned just as bad in the SB and had just as many bad games as Clark did.

Moving one of them to LG would make a lot of sense, let Beadles walk and let them battle out for the RT job in camp.

I wonder what Kuper's contract status is and if he will stay with the team as depth or even challenge for a job himself?

Either way I am not worried about the OL, actually glad to hear they like Painter. OL takes time to develop. You can't just tell them to go after one dude like you can with young DL.

I am not surprised. I have seen a fair few mock drafts going with OL to the Broncos in the 1st round and I just can't get my head around it. Clady, Ramirez and Vasquez are locked in at their positions, Franklin is a decent player who will be a starter at either RT or elsewhere. Clark played well enough to deserve a long look and drafting OL in the 1st round just isn't the MO of this organization.

My own best guess was to either move Clark at LG and keep Franklin at RT or move Franklin to LG and move Clark to RT. The outside the box thinking being that Kuper is extended to a more managable deal and slotted in at LG. They will probably try to retain Beadles, but I just don't see it happening.

Last year at this time, we didn't realize Ramirez would be our starting center, and that we would have Vasquez pro-bowling it at right guard. I trust Elway and Gibbs to put the right people in the right places. Not sure what happened in the SB, but the whole team got beat by a better team that wanted it more.

I have been for Franklin playing guard since he came to the Broncos. He could help provide a better push in those quick inside draw plays and could get help inside by the center if facing a quick pass rusher and/or blitzer. Clark could do the job at RT IMO.

Franklin has become one of the best RTs in football. Not sure why we would move him inside, just because there could be a hole there. In fact, Guard is much easier to replace. To think of Clark trying to run block on the strong side, not good.

Franklin is almost too big to play LG. Can he move and pull like a guard? He sure would be a mauler on the straight ahead run plays that is for sure.

It would suck to switch Franklin then have it not work out. Especially when last yr had talented guards they passed on, and this yr has some good ones also.

Broncos need to add a more physical player to the inside. Franklin may be the ticket I don't know. Seems risky to move him.

This would be my concern as well. Beadles pulls well but I would rather see them get away from relying on the traps and pulls and get a lead back out of the back field and run some I formation plays. You can still run a 3 wide I formation if you had the right H-back who could motion to TE or stay at FB based on what Manning wants to run at the LOS.

Yep, and the Broncos have worked him at guard in various practices, with the likely thought he would move to guard at some point. It is typically easier for OL to make a switch from tackle to guard than the other way around. And like you said, LG is where Franklin played a lot in college.

They drafted him as a tackle and thought that it was the best position for him.
I still remember the beating Elway took on draft sights and forums when they announced that Franklin would play T and not G.

He has practiced there but I doubt it is for a future move. Probably just flexibility.

Seems like OG is still a bit of an issue. Looking at http://www.denverbroncos.com/team/roster.html

There's a bunch of guys listed as OT's and "OL" but they're young unproven guys.

71 Cornick, Paul T 6-6 310 24 1 North Dakota State
Farrell, Mike OL 6-6 303 24 1 Penn State
63 Garland, Ben G 6-5 308 25 1 Air Force
Harewood, Ramon T 6-6 330 27 4 Morehouse
Miller, Ryan OL 6-1 320 24 2 Colorado
70 Painter, Vinston OT 6-6 309 24 R Virginia Tech

Garland is the veteran among that group and has been working with the OL since last year I believe.

Harewood: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramon_Harewood played OG for Baltimore.

Well, I suppose there's some options there. Maybe they WILL try Franklin at LG and Clark at RT. We'll see I guess. There's still some FA options at OG:

Travelle Wharton
Willie Colon
Jeff Ohrnberger
Davin Joseph
Uche Nwaneri
Daryn Colledge
Richie Incognito
Charlie Johnson

He's solid, nothing more. He often has serious issues with elite speed rushers due to a lack of lateral quickness. Dude got destroyed in the Super Bowl.

I think it would be a significant improvement overall. Clark's play a LT against elite rushers was quite remarkable for a backup, and I think he would be a better RT than Franklin. And Franklin would be worlds better than Beadles.
