I'm not sure I buy into the whole "Everyone who seems gay is gay, and everyone who seems straight is straight" game.

Seen too many counter-examples on both sides.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. I take quick showers anyway, and get dressed as quickly as possible. I'm not homophobic. Everybody has probably been hit on by one of their friends before (male or female). If that happens, you just decline their advances, but remain friends. In a work environment, all you would really care about is if they made big plays, and were a good team player.

What happens when you get the second gay guy on the team? Seriously, does the team need to implement no dating policies - similar to cheerleaders and players. That IS a potential distraction.

That could actually be a good spot for him, especially if he is as talented as advertised. That team and fan base already have an "us against the world" attitude and are downright rabid about supporting their own.

On a side note, Kerry Rhodes was already out to his (former) Cardinals teammates, to the point where he was comfortable enough to bring his then-boyfriend around the team and the boyfriend was buddies with the spouses and girlfriends. Everyone was happy.

As long as everyone involved (media included) behaves like the adults they are supposed to be, there should be no issue. Let this young man play.

It's a slippery slope -- pretty soon the whole locker room will look like this:

Apparently if you're gay, you have no self control and every guy is eye candy.

Like they were talking about on sports radio this morning, imagine yourself in the lockerroom of the US women's soccer team. I seriously doubt I'd be the model of self control if every day at work I had a naked Hope Solo on one side and Alex Morgan on the other.

I'd probably have to put the water on extra cold and stare at Abby Wambach.

Let's be real, its better he say it on his own terms rather than it be "breaking news" due to the media.

I don't think this is for attention at all. The argument is always the same.

"I don't walk around telling people I'm heterosexual."

So why is there the need to find out if a person is homosexual or whatever they identify with?

It was probably a smart move. Cause now if the NFL leaves him Undrafted America will be up in arms about it. ACLU will file a discrimination lawsuit and the various LBGT groups would protest all over training camps and fall Sundays.

Not a good look the NFL wants happening.

The kid has already been dealing with this for probably more than half his life and managed to get through high school and D1 football presumably with no issues. I'm sure he will be fine.

Might as well Draft the guy and sign Kerry Rhodes. Fix 2 needed positions and Denver is used to media drivel.

No doubt. I'm just saying, gay or straight, he's human. It's got to be tough.

I notice everyone that is left handed. It doesn't look normal. I believe 88% of the humans are right handed. I know it is different. My son does all sports left handed but he writes and eats right handed. Pretty different and not normal. It sure doesn't mean anything more than that.

What Drunk is saying is exactly how you want it to be seen. It isn't normal behavior (just like it isn't normal to be left handed). As for being left handed, I get it. I am different. Being left handed isn't normal. My wife is different and my oldest is even more of an oddity.

Once you can realize it isn't normal but it can still be accepted is the way to go. Trying to push something that very few people do in life is not considered normal.
Before Jackie Robinson was an abnormal sideshow, it was you damn lefties. It just ain't normal. Teachers got really angry if you tried to write with your left hand, and they would smack it with a ruler until you couldn't use it. You're gonna be normal and like it!!
