Exactly what Manning did against the Ravens, except worse, because most of it cae in the 1st half.
Manning's game agaisnt the Ravens was fine. Yesterday was a disaster. But it was also a full team disaster. Getting rid of our QB for i dont know what isnt the answer. Thats just an emotional response.

Oh yeah, and kinda hard to increase the Defensive talent level, when the Offense is taking 70% of the cap.

I didn't say get rid of the QB. I said this team is incapable of winning a SB. There are many reasons for that. Yes it was a full team disaster, just like the Ravens loss. That lands on every single member of the team, and especially the QB.

Fine? Throwing across your body back into the field for the game losing interception in 2OT instead of throwing it away because it's only 2nd down was not "fine"

This is the paradox I find interesting. Manning is a great QB, no doubt, but is it even possible to win a Super Bowl paying your QB that amount of money? Obviously, the rest of your roster suffers greatly. Look what happened to Baltimore once they paid Flacco and had to let people go to fit under the cap.

We're still a pretty cheap team because we've hit on a lot of draft picks lately, and we're still up against the cap with crappy depth. We've got some big ticket guys coming up for Free Agency soon. To sign them along with Manning's contract means we'll be skimping at other areas once again.

We're essentially the Colts of the 2000s now. It didn't really work that well for them the first time a franchise tried this passing finesse route. To the point their owner had enough and demanded a run/defense oriented attack. Anyway, it's hard for me to determine if making the Playoffs every year but getting beat by the defensive oriented teams with lackluster QBs constitutes a positive experience. I tend to feel like 2nd place is the first loser, even stinging more because you were so close to winning. But then, we really weren't all that close in reality.

It was pretty obvious when the Jags started trotting out Blaine Gabbert that he was a giant p***Y and would never play well in this league. But the team was in denial due to the sunk cost and wasted years hoping he'd turn it around. We've had two years with Manning and I'm not sure we can win the Super Bowl being a pass oriented team with the vast majority of our cap focused on that aspect of the team. I'm ready to rebuild focusing on defense and the running game. I think we'll make the Playoffs every year we keep Manning, but I don't think we'll win against the physical defensive teams (Chorfs not withstanding).

Those are the thoughts tumbling around my brain today as I try and make sense of the Massacre at the Meadowlands.

It'll be painful to do but once my emotions calm down, I am going rewatch the game and see how Seattle was able to completely dominate the Broncos. My hunch still says the O-line led to everything collapsing. Pressure on Manning seemed to come from everywhere.

Way too much is riding on one immobile man to be perfect, especially when his job is dependent on receivers catching the ball, who are allowed to be tackled in the endzone before the ball arrives.

Sorry, the only way to beat that, is to pick up 1st downs by running the ball... Probably with your QB.

The Broncos played like they were lined up across real live tigers. Just scared and nervous. I’m still in shock..never dreamed of getting blown out. It stings like a b****.

This is what concerns me the most. You can fix an OL or a MLB. How do you fix a mentally weak team? They looked intimidated to me after knowing for two weeks Seattle was going to play that way. How do you de-pussify an entire team?

Yes, and it's the same feeling you got in our other 3 losses this year. Particularly the Indy loss. Just looked like they got punched in the mouth and didn't want to get hit any more. And it's one of the main reasons I was so wary of this team all year, despite all the wins and records.

Damn good question. Hope that it was a one-time fluke? It’s a weird position to be in, second best team in the entire league and yet in full scale soul search mode.

I thought they showed fight in Indy. Clawed their way back in the end.

Yes, you're right, good point. But I kind of had that feeling about them when things were going poorly earlier in the game.

I think the medical staff should fail Manning because because.. Because mobile QBs are the only way you win a SB, although this is the first one to do so of this new movement of QBs. And by the way he plays on the most complete team in the NFL.

Sorry, I'm pretty much over the 55-10 shellacking we took from the 49ers. Worse than this one and while it's history I'm over it. If you are not, I'd recommend a therapist.
