Default #1 offense vs #1defense in SB (offense favored by 4)

In the NFL we know that it has always been popular to be a high-powered high-flying offense. Vegas loves it, the media loves it, the fans love it as we can see in the national polls. Its fair to say that the Broncos offense is prolific. You could even argue that they are the best offense in NFL history. Certainly the age in which the league operates has hand cuffs defenses which in turn inflates the offensive output as yardage and scoring are at some of the highest points in the league history. All that considered I would say that makes what the Seahawks have accomplished even that much more impressive, I know you're all not impressed, but maybe you should be and maybe you will be.

Getting to the point at hand, I think the link below is the closest resemblance to this years Superbowl. Literally the best offense vs the best defense in the NFL, facing off in the biggest game.

I have always been an offense guy and have always just assumed that the best offense wins. I've been caught up in that for years in regards to the Superbowl, even in Seattle's only Superbowl. Scoring is exciting, thrilling, entertaining but it's also the cruelest form of fools gold. Every superman has his kryptonite.

This is more than just statistics.. A very insightful and enjoyable read which if read thoroughly and with an open mind will put the fear of GOD, or L.O.B. into you. If not, well, so be it.

"It was the first time in Super Bowl history that the league's #1 ranked offense (Raiders) was pitted against the league's #1 ranked defense (Buccaneers). "

That link is pure garbage.

This is where I think your presence here is not sincere. You are comparing the Rich Gannon lead raiders to the best offense in history?

Try Peyton Manning lead historical offense against a nothing historically special number 1 defense for 2013.

FYI, the 2005 bears were a much better defense that Peyton Manning beat in the super bowl. That bears defense averaged 12.6 points per game compared to 14.6 for the seahawks

I'm sure Bill Callahan not changing ANY of the play calls from under Gruden had no impact on that game. Plus, that was before mugging the wide-receivers was made illegal.

Actually in 2002 it was the best defense versus the 6th best offense, not the first.

Also I pretty much pull apart that as a good gauge because the Buccs head coach was the Raiders coach the year before and they didn't both changing the playcalling so Gruden told his defense all the calls. And the Buccs had one of the best defenses of all time in points per game. The Seahawks aren't even in the top 20. And this was before the enforcement of no contact beyond 5 yards.

This year it's *Best defense this year vs.
*Best offense EVER

Rich Gannon had a great season and that Raiders team was good.. They were favored by 4 against one of the best defenses in NFL history. Point is that offense is always going to get the hype, and the odds. Vegas makes a killing on games like this.

Your offense is going to look miserable for the first time all season..

It was illegal but it was relaxed on how it was enforced.

Oh yeah and the broncos scored 156 points more than that team and the Seahawks arenít the 2002 Buccaneers defense that allowed 12.2 points per game...talk about a bad analogy

This Seahawks defense is clearly one of the best of all time... Plenty of evidence.
And they've accomplished it in an era where throwing for 4000 yards is no longer impressive.

Denver's Offense >>>>>>>> Oakland's Offense
Tampa's Defense >>> Seattle's Defense

Yeah, great point.

Also Russell Wilson is better than John Elway & Peyton Manning.

How does Vegas make a killing? You don't understand how sports betting works right? That is one of those stupid cliches that shows you are clueless when you say it.

Actually it's a great analogy... Offenses were more conservative back then thus easier to have lower defense numbers. Seattle has accomplished this in the new age of offense.

You're statistically the greatest offense of all time in an era where offenses strive. The Seahawks are one of the top 5 greatest defenses of all time in an era where defenses are limited tenfold compared to even a decade ago.

What Seattle had accomplished statistically on defense is much more impressive than what Denver has done offensively when you consider the and age of the sport.

You won't get the crowd noise impeding Mannings audibles though. Seattle relies on crowd noise more then any other team in the NFL.

After Seattle gets a couple pass interference calls for holding we will see what happens. No way the NFL lets the Superbowl be a hold fest against it's golden boy Manning.

**** this Superbowl already decided you don't stand a chance.

Nobody has compared this year's seahawks to the best ever defense. Don't make me list the number 1 defenses for the last decade to show they aren't even relevant to that discussion...

What are you 12? Vegas could care less how much they make. They only worry about how much they can lose.

Once too much money goes on one team they change the spread to get money going the other way. Vegas makes money almost no matter what.
