And prior to this week, you could have countered with, "Well, Chris Christie performed extremely well in every one of those categories in his election, and that was going up against a formidable Democratic woman candidate with experience."

So the question remains...Rand Paul going to carry the black vote? Scott Brown gonna win over women? Scott Walker going to win back the working class for you? Ted Cruz going to get support from the Latinos?

What's the answer?

That's an absolutely awful answer, considering how far "what about his blackness" got you in the last two elections.

But please keep thinking you'll ride Gramma Hill to the White House in 2016 just because one long-shot Republican candidate might've put himself out of the running.

People by and large no longer view their government as remotely competent. Your guy sold that message loud and clear. Status quo insiders are no longer a safe bet. Especially ones with as much dirty laundry as the old lady.
he was the top GOP candidate! If he was a long shot then what does that say about the scrap heap in line behind him to run for a nom.

I would be in favor of reasonable term limits as long as we could also include campaign finance reform and some way to limit the amount of influence lobbyists can have.

I would also be for proportional representation but understand that would take an entire rewrite of our Constitution to achieve.

Eh,if you like the job someone is doing you should be able to re-elect him. If you think your rep is a power freak & the worst of humanity vote him/her out.

The answer is of course the Demoncrats will have a strangle hold on large elections because they've done a masterful job of creating the impression that they're representative of the diversity in this nation. With the Republicans garnering only 3 of every 5 white votes, catering to the growing "minority" population is the key. And in recent elections, 80% of those "minorities" who tend to live in states with the highest number of electoral college votes, are voting for the JACKASSes.....in states such as CALI and TEJAS, Whites are already less then 50% of the population.

I agree with you that the Republican party is also not the answer to what ails this nation.....

Default John huntsman on christie

Quote:
Christie fired a top aide that implicated in the closures, which led to a four-day traffic fiasco in Fort Lee, New Jersey, but maintained last week that he personally had no knowledge of the affair.

Huntsman, who appeared on MSNBC Tuesday with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va), also a former governor of that state, said that gubernatorial offices are structured so tightly that everyone would be aware of such an action "down to, you know, a minuscule details.” (sic)

“But I have to tell you that having run a governor’s office — and Joe has done the same thing, and every governor’s office, whether your state is large or small, it’s pretty much organized the same way,” he said, as quoted by the Washington Post. “Your neighbor is a chief of staff, and your deputy chief of staff is just right down the hall. And everybody knows, day in and day out, what’s playing out in your state. Down to, you know, a minuscule details.”

He continued: “So there — there’s something here that just does not connect fully in terms of how communication was handled and the issues were put forward to him."

'Because I know how governors’ offices run," he added. "I ran one. Joe knows how governors’ offices run. He ran one too. I think any governor would probably tell you the same thing about how tight those internal staffs are and the extent of the detail that flows to the governor’s office.”

Nope, the rightards have done a masterful job at alienating the middle class, poor, and minorities. No impressions, just straight up thumbing their noses.

The one thing I will say for sure about the lane closings... what kind of effed up State is New Jersey where this kind of political decision through the bureaucracy is even possible?

I'd imagine in all but a handful of states, if you had the Politicos telling transportation officials to close down bridges for no apparent reason, they'd be promptly told to stick their thumb up their ass.

A culture where this sort of thing is even possible is a culture where it's already been going on for years.

See now you're starting to catch on. Get past the left vs. right & knee jerk opposing talking points for a moment... It's amazing that not only is something like this even possible, but that it lasted for so long. It's wasn't merely a busy afternoon or holiday but nearly an entire work week. That's a lot of shifts where 3/4 of the bridge is coned off day and night while no work is being done. Police, fire, ambulances, school buses all locked up in traffic and nothing done about it day after day.

Now the sharks smell blood. His old parking tickets will start getting published now.

Funny, the fact that all conservatives can come up with is "benghazi" proves that the chriztie scandal is real. Benghazi and irs were not real scandals, never were. MSM cares about ratings regardless of who's expense it comes at. There was nothing to the so called "benghazi/irs" scandals. Even ron Pauls idiot son, rand paul acknowledged as much.

Yeah like totals. 4 dead Americans including an ambassador on 9/11. Meh. Administration making up stories to cover up for their inaction. Blah blah. Jailing a home video scapegoat or two? Big deal.

All we gots to say is Jersey traffic, people. Jersey traffic.

You seem to be ok with with actual government abuse. Benghazi was a ****ed up situation not a scandal.
Where's all the actual evidence of a cover up again? I'm sure darrell issa would like to know as well.

IRS singles out and targets conservative groups during an election year.

Two lanes of traffic closed on the GW Bridge.

Yes, I see your point .....
