Both Denver & Seattle will make it to the Big Dance.

Beyond that, my crystal ball is cloudy.

Probably not, but maybe. We have a good shot. We can do it if we don't lose!

Seattle doesn't scare me, but a rematch with the Eagles does (esp w/ Foles).

Yup, it would be a revenge game for them (if you believe in this being a factor) and they'd be playing only about an hour from home.

There's this thing called a poll, you can make it public so people know who voted and how they voted. Cmon man, this is a Broncos forum, not a backwards redneck KC forum. Get with the program already.

Regardless, for some reason we've struggled converting 3rd downs the last two games and it needs to be better. Missing Welker could be part of it.
Being -19 in turnover differential explains this.

Probably not.

Hope I'm wrong. I just don't see how we can generate a sufficient pass rush to beat 3 quality teams in a row. That's a tall order.

Past history says unlikely. Not that either one is the 1 seed yet but both 1 seeds rarely make it.

No

Reasons

1. No Pass Rush
2. NE Billy > John Fox (Outcoaches Foxy everytime even without Gronk)
3. Seattle

But don't forget: both Denver & Seattle need to win this weekend to guarantee the home-field advantage. Denver also gets it if NE loses.

But if disaster strikes, both team could potentially lose the home-field advantage on Sunday.

The no pass rush is what concerns me the most. There will come a time in the playoffs late in a game where the other team has a third and 8 and we desperately need a stop either because we are barely ahead or barely behind.

Great. I'm sure most teams will try to keep up with the Broncos offense by handing the ball 30 times to their running back. Good luck with that strategy unless ...as said....the broncos **** up on offense. But i'll give the broncos the benefit of the doubt that SD was an outlier.

Thursday night game against a divisional opponent fighting for their playoff lives and our offensive line looked like they forgot they were playing in an NFL game that night.

Definitely an anomaly in this season.

Agree. I actually hope they go this route against us. I'm much more concerned with a game where we give up a couple really big plays, have a bad bounce or bad call, etc. AKA the Baltimore game last year.

That is why I mentioned that neither team is a lock for the 1 seed. I will laugh if Seattle is the 5 seed.

How I think it plays out:

Cincinnati over Miami
Kansas City over Indianapolis

Denver over Kansas City
Cincinnati over New England

Denver over Cincinnati

Philadelphia over New Orleans
Green Bay over San Francisco

Seattle over San Francisco
Green Bay over Carolina

Seattle over Green Bay

Denver over Seattle

I don't know what is more bull**** in this post; The Chiefs winning a playoff game or 49ers getting two chances to win in the playoffs. I will say the first one.

The straight up truth is, it falls on Manning regardless of our defense. Our defense still has enough players to get a few stops, even with the injuries. What we can't have happen is Peyton gets locked in the underneath game like we've done a few times in losses and what seems to happen when games get tight and pressure packed, i.e. vs. Indy, vs. NE, vs. SD, and namely against Baltimore last year.

PFM needs to go out there like a boss, and throw the damn football down the field just like he did vs. Houston. When he started throwing down the field and attacking the secondary, we got 3 TD's in the final 8 minutes. When we played a ball control, rinky dink short game passing offense, it stagnated us and negated our talent advantage at the WR position vs the DB's and takes the pressure off the defense to actually cover. When we go deep, it also gets the safeties out of the running game which is why Knowshon/Ball had over 6 or 7 yds per carry. Baltimore won the super bowl last year because they attacked down the field. It changed everything and they had player who went and made plays at the WR position. Denver/PFM need to follow suit.

If Denver is to win it all, they will need to take chances and that means that the coaching staff, the players and namely Peyton Manning need to throw caution into the wind and go for the jugular early and often. THROW THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD! Hold nothing back, and don't wait until it's the 4th quarter to win the damn game.

I'm very iffy leaning toward no. Not getting my hopes up like last year just to have them trampled on again. Bleh.

Too many injuries on top of an already inconsistent defense.
