Default NYPost Backs "Fahrenheit 911" Claims

Murdoch’s NYPost Today Backs Michael Moore Bush-Saudi Claims from “Fahrenheit 911″

by Roger Friedman -

UPDATE- Paul Sperry responds: “Unger and Moore have their own agendas. mine aligns with the FBI WFO case agents and FCPD detectives who say they’ll never forgive the Bush admin for throttling their investigation of leads back to Saudi Embassy and Bandar himself in McLean. they view the former POTUS as a traitor.”

Earlier this afternoon:

Shock: today’s Murdoch owned highly conservative New York Post features an opinion piece backing Michael Michael Moore’s Bush-Saudi claims from “Fahrenheit 911.” It’s the main story on the Post’s website with a huge photo and prominent placement. The story is also featured in a color block headline on the front page of today’s paper.
Moore must get a lot of satisfaction out of this. It’s only taken a decade for a conservative pundit writing in a conservative newspaper to endorse his movie.

Indeed, Paul Sperry’s editorial is a direct echo of a 2003 Vanity Fair story by Craig Unger, author of the book that was the underlying information for the Oscar winning movie. That book was called “House of Bush, House of Saud” and it still available for Kindle. The Vanity Fair article was called Saving the Saudis, publishing ten years ago. Here’s the link: http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2003/10/saving-the-saudis-200310

Today’s piece by Sperry is shocking first because he is a conservative. But second, Sperry’s piece questions why huge portions of a Congressional report about 9/11 remain redacted– blacked out–in his piece called “Inside the Saudi Cover Up.” http://nypost.com/2013/12/15/inside-the-saudi-911-coverup/

The story could just as easily have been called “Inside the Bush Cover Up.” It’s amazing that NY Post editor Col Allan ran it, and that Rupert Murdoch would have approved it. The Post has always mocked Michael Moore, and certainly backed George W. Bush endlessly.

For conservatives, Sperry suddenly endorsing Moore and Unger and “Fahrenheit 911″ has to be a slap in the face.
Sperry writes:

“President Bush inexplicably censored 28 full pages of the 800-page report. Text isn’t just blacked-out here and there in this critical-yet-missing middle section. The pages are completely blank, except for dotted lines where an estimated 7,200 words once stood (this story by comparison is about 1,000 words).

A pair of lawmakers who recently read the redacted portion say they are “absolutely shocked” at the level of foreign state involvement in the attacks.”

He adds:

“Just days after Bush met with the Saudi ambassador in the White House, the FBI evacuated from the United States dozens of Saudi officials, as well as Osama bin Laden family members. Bandar made the request for escorts directly to FBI headquarters on Sept. 13, 2001 — just hours after he met with the president. The two old family friends shared cigars on the Truman Balcony while discussing the attacks.”

Even stranger, the NY Post via Sperry is now featuring Sen. Bob Graham, Democrat of Florida. Sperry writes: “Democrat Bob Graham, the former Florida senator who chaired the Joint Inquiry, has asked the FBI for the Sarasota case files, but can’t get a single, even heavily redacted, page released. He says it’s a “coverup.”

If true, that would be a damning indictment of the Bush administration's protection of the Saudi's involvement after 911.

Let's hope congress does investigate and release the report's censored pages, in fact, there should be no question that they should.

Also if true, it should put an end to the absurd claims that terrorists didn't attack the US, and all the 'stupid' that goes with that denial. But of course it won't.

I have posted many times on this -- to no effect. But now that a conservative has taken up the cause -- it gets attention.

The cochair of the 2002 Joint Inquiry into 9/11 Senator Graham called for Bush's impeachment for covering up the Saudi connection. He was ignored.

As we know -- Bandar Bush is virtually a member of the Bush crime family. Bandar was in Moscow last August threatening Putin with Al Qaeda terrorism. Did anyone even notice?

The fact remains that Al Qaeda could never have pulled off 9/11 without the complicity of Wall Street, the US intelligence community, elements of the US military, and the Bush administration.

I thought al-Qaeda had nothing to do with 9/11.

Why have you changed your story?

What I've said is that Al Qaeda alone could never have pulled off 9/11. The evidence for that is overwhelming.

You clowns are so illiterate you don't even understand the official story about what supposedly happened. MHG

I would like to believe every American who isn't blowing Bush could agree to at least this much.

Now that I have looked online in more detail, there is something odd about the timing of this story appearing in the Post.

It has been reported many times over the years and more recently on the IBT site; 6 days ago...http://www.ibtimes.com/911-link-saud...elease-1501202

Bob Graham, mentioned in the story, is interestingly still promoting his novel.

Others reporting the 'story' are an odd mix of right wing and troofer sites.

Strange bedfellows.........interesting timing with all the GOP in-fighting going on. It's a conspiracy!!

I'm sure the Bush ass kissers would love nothing more than to run with all of the above and use it as a deflection (i.e., in the hope that we'll forget all about those censored pages.)

No, what you've said is that OBL was a patsy a la LHO, and that al-Qaeda had nothing to do with 9/11.

That's why you came up with red mercury-powered pure-fusion mini-nukes.

From what I can see, those censored pages have been a story since at least 2003.

The curiosity is why the Post chooses to rerun it now, other than they are a 'tabloid.'

The Post apparently plagiarized or bought their version of the story from the IBT site.

Any investigations by members of congress Republican or Democrat is a total waste of time. I hate to say it but Hillary was correct.

Kind of puts the Bush ass kissers in a double bind, no?

According to its apologists, the official account is unassailable, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Anyone who suggests otherwise is a "troofer" lunatic.

But the chairman of the investigative body upon whose findings the official account is founded claims there was a cover-up and that we need to reopen the investigation.

Therefore, either (a) the official story is NOT unassailable or (b) Graham is simply a "troofer" (the upshot of which is the same as "a.")

In any event, Michael Moore was right all along and these lemmings were wrong. Kudos to Moore also for speaking out in "Fahrenheit 911" at a time when it was decidedly unpopular to question the Bush Misadministration.

I give Moore credit for speaking up when he won the Oscar -- even though he was booed at the time -- he was right.
