the best fit for shanny is that museum of a home he built in cherry hills. without gibbs, turner, kubiak and a world class QB shanny is pretty ordinary.
even then he has to hire somebody to run the D and shanny hasnt made a successful hire of ANY coach other than the aforementioned in 15 YEARS !!!
do we even need to talk about his skills at putting a special teams on the field?

So who made the call on the Griffin trade in 2012?

Shanahan or Snyder?

The Rams raped them on that trade considering what they've gotten from it so far.

They will have absolutely raped them if they get Clowney.

The Rams needs a QB, but I can't see anyone passing up Clowney.

If shanny does get another job it will only confirm what so many now know.
( even some loyal, appreciative bronco fans are allowing themselves to see the shanahan reality)

removing snyder from the equasion will only help to erase all doubt.

OK, I'll play.

Name ONE coach in the entire history of the NFL that would have a winning record for their career if you took away their best QB and best assistant coaches.

Shanny will get another HC job, no doubt about it. The question is what team will bring him in? I'm not seeing Houston and I at people who think he lands there. If anything, Rick Smith will avoid Shanny like the plague because he knows what an ego Shanny has.

Nah, I'm thinking it's more of a desparate team. A team that's got nothing to lose. How about the faiders part deux?

You just dont want to admit the harsh reality.

the redskins had the smallest stadium in the NFL and had no more or less money than any other NFL team so that's a pretty weak excuse. You don't need a HoF QB to win a championship.

Are you serious?

Bill Belichick - take away his Brady wins and you have a losing record. Don't even need to take away his best assts.

Parcells - same. take away the Simms wins and you have a losing record. Again, no need to even take away his best assts.

Marv Levy - same. Jim Kelly gone? losing record.

And you answered incorrectly. Take away Rypien or Theismann's wins and he has a losing career record. I don't even have to project what he'd do if you took away his best assistant coaches.

This is too easy.

lol Rypien, whatever! Gibbs won 3 SBs with 3 different QBs and one QB who did little to nothing after winning the SB in Doug Williams. You could ask a much better question like "how did he do it?" Let me answer this for you--a great running game, HoF offensive line and solid defense.

All the "great" coaches needed a great QB.

My point still stands. He was a .500 coach after returning to the NFL. Take away his wins from either Rypien or Theismann and he's a below .500 coach for his career. That was the argument from post one and it's not even debatable.

respectfully, lombardi did NOT have a "great' QB
jim mcmahon, great? sorry.
doug williams, nope.
dilfer?
a great QB just improves a coaches chances and often makes them look smarter than they are.

I never said you needed a great QB to win a single SB. Teams have obviously won SBs without one. I would never argue otherwise.

I said you need a great QB to end your career with a great record. And if you take away the best QB (and best assistant coaches, as you set forth in your argument) from any coaches career record, they won't look so great any more. Shanny is no exception.
