Shanahan knows he's fired and wants the whole story out there. Snyder deserves blame because he sucks, but Mike knew what kind of owner he was when he signed on there. Landing in the right place makes a difference.

That said, as long as Slowik is on that team, Shanahan won't win. All he's helped Mike do is get fired twice.

The irrational hate for Slowik is incredible. Slowik isn't the reason the skins are losing, it because RGIII can hit the side of barn from the pocket.

If Shanahan did leak the story then it's a really classless move.

He knew what Snyder was when he signed on, why complain about it later by leaking a story like that?

shannys pre-emptive strike on being fired. dudes ego wont allow the world to think he was worth firing twice.
shanny is still stunned he was canned in denver still says he thought pat was inviting him to lunch when he called him to his office.

Shanny will be fired shortly and Shanny definitely leaked that story. RG3 just isn't a franchise QB and they gave up too many draft picks for the rights to select him.

I appreciate all shanny did here in Denver but it's as if Shanny took a page from Saddam by appointing his son to run things.

Back to the Shanny mansion. Oh wait is Peyton still kicking it in his bowling alley crib? Is manning going to be homeless?

Not classless. If that situation is true where he had no say in playing RG3, and it cost you a season, you have to get that information out there.

Or should he just stay quiet and let his image tarnish even more?

Redskins likely to pursue Baylor's Art Briles if/when Shanahan is fired

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/...nahan-is-fired

The Washington Redskins are expected to pursue Baylor's Art Briles should they fire Mike Shanahan, according to league sources.

Not only are the strugging Redskins (3-10) losing, there also is a fractured relationship between coach Mike Shanahan and ownership. With Shanahan's partnership with quarterback Robert Griffin III also in peril, the club is likely to part with Shanahan, perhaps as soon as Monday. Once that happens, several league sources believe Baylor's Art Briles will be one of their targets.

Briles coached Griffin in college and maintains a strong connection with the QB and his family. While Briles recently agreed to an extension to remain at the school, it doesn't render an a move to the NFL impossible. Briles proved uniquely able to handle Griffin's ego, unique-playing style and health concerns while at Baylor, and also managed Griffin's parents and inner-circle, who have gone public at times -- voicing issues with Shanahan.

I'm not questioning the move (whoever called it) to put RGIII back in. It was the playoffs, the player wanted in, the team wanted him in, he came back in.

What is classless is releasing that info out now, almost a year later while the season is still under way.

I'm talking about letting RGKnee start the season...with absolutely 0 reps from the time he got injured to Week 1 this year.

And he can't leak this after he gets fired...the time to do it is now.

Yeah, I really don't get the level of babying that goes around RGIII.

It's football, players get hit, players get injured.

RGIII should have really put a stop to this in the media months ago. There have been plenty of QBs that put their body on the line and paid for it and never complained, made it an issue or even entertained talking about it with the media for more than a few minutes and then moved on.
